I am so sad that I only seem to get on LJ for MOMENTS at a time to read other posts, and then those visits are of the 15 minute variety, not the long, leisurely stroll through other people's thoughts, lives and dreams. I love my leisurely LJ strolls, sigh

Freddie had an issue (still does at times) with his pads. He would burn them off sliding down the contacts, yes, the rubberized contacts. He has been known to takes chunks out of his carpal pads, but never showed anything was wrong until after we were done training. I have been known to wrap the carpal pads in vetwrap and tape prior to activity, it helped a lot.
London's are misshapen and heather at one time filed them down because he had the same issues.
Luckily they heal quickly.
Woot on the trial! Would love to see video;) She looked so amazing last time I saw her in Hood River.
Hope to see you soon.

Yes, Flyte had chunks missing, gruesome. And then when they've sort of grow back they are all lumpy and she is NOT a happy camper. I am going to wrap her in vetwrap. Well, when she lets me touch her again.
This smorning she came out with me to get the dog food and as she was sidling in closer to me she must of tapped the folding metal step and it crashed down near her. Again, I did this to her! Won't have anything to do with me, again. Sigh. So, changing the vetwrap on her now is going to be a chore.
AS Heather would say, .... girls.... such drama.
The vet said that I could use wart remover once they are healed to get rid of the lumpy extra tissue. So, I might try that. I can't imagine she'll allow me to file them. DRAMA!!!!
And yes, my goal this week will be video :)

EMT Gel is reportedly great for fast healing of pads. I've also heard that Tuf N Up will help to make the pad tougher. Good luck!

London did have quite an issue with ripping his stop pads on the contact equipment, I eventually would just file them down all the time and then put bag balm or the like on them to try to keep them from cracking.
With Haku's foot I've been using vetericyn, and no idea how much it helps, but he seems fine now. Apparently it requires no cleaning of the wound and doesn't sting, so maybe it would help with drama Flyte if she lets you near her. London required constant stop pad maintenance in his agility years, we would do it every week, just part of our routine.
