It's a computer programing joke. :) I don't fully understand it myself (the hoodie was a gift from a sys-admin friend of mine) but my understanding is that root is some kind of code language? Or something equally important anyway.

Argh, I'd love the hoodie (my cadre of Comp Sci nerdboys would be so jealous!) but I can't even afford shipping at the moment.
