Television: Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Well, I finished Spartacus earlier this evening and this is what I have to say for the thirteen episode first season: Holy. Fuck.

To say that Spartacus is the most violent show I've ever seen is a complete and total understatement. Decapitations, guttings, stabs through the head, cracking heads against marble flooring, castration, crucifixions ( Read more... )

4 airlocks, na-na-na-naked, spartacus, television, i'd make out with lucy lawless

Thank the gods for Netflix Instant Watch, which allows me to watch so much TV with so little effort.

So, in other words, you're saying there's a lot of naked people?

Hee.

I watched the first epsiode but thought it was SOO BAD I just gave up. I really thought it'd be better as it had so many of the same people working on it as Xena. :( Though I have heard it gets better after the first few episodes, and Lucy Lawless being an evil villan and being amazing and scary sounds like maybe I should give it another try...

I would if I were you. I think the pilot is the weakest of all 13 episodes, though if you actually hated it, you still might not like the series very much.

I think it takes a few episodes for the tone to really settle and for the bad guys to actually get really moving.
