Oh, Bastille Day. Bastille Day, Bastille Day, Bastille Day. I want to like you. I really do. I mean, you ask a lot of interesting political and philosophical questions that I like to ponder over and all that. You also feature Laura in a night gown and Lee, much as I can't stand him, looks really good all roughed up in his tanks. But, when it comes ( Read more... )

Good analysis of a choppy episode anonymous February 1 2010, 03:49:20 UTC
I watched this on the plane to Frankfurt; so I was a little distracted. Then all the drinking I did in Vienna erased my memory of it. I will have to go back. But yes, Zarek, is a narcissistic douche bag.

Another thing- many of these troublemakers-- they make their trouble through spreading misinformation and lies. The cylons are great at exploiting networks to bring down entire colonies- which is why there are wired phones etc, correct? But they also do this two within relationships and communities by spreading lies about who is and who is not a cylon. Anyway, the point is the theme of the power of "viral ideas" or "memes" is another to keep track of. At least I think it could be. The social psychology is fascinating.

Ciao!

If we can only survive by restricting natural freedoms, what's the point? In my mind, our freedoms are what make us human and if our freedoms are taken from us, what are we fighting to preserve and is that fight worth it in the end?First, I liked your analysis of this theme in BSG vs our current world. Very good point ( ... )

Seriously, so much word about the civilians. What whiny lame-os. It's like, "Would you rather die, assholes?" Laura should have shoved all of them out an airlock.

Regarding #8 - seriously, Tom and I were watching these episodes w/ Helo & Sharon and just cursing at him. He's all bad-ass protective but never glances up?! So frustrating! And also? Helo is totally dreamy. I appreciate him so much more upon re-watching of the series because I love him so much in Dollhouse. Agent Ballard....yum!
