Six Of One

I hope I can concentrate on this review because I'm currently watching last night's episode of Real Housewives Of New York because last night I was watching, of course, Xena. And you guys can't even imagine how many notes I have for Six Of One. It's seriously the most notes I've written for any episode with the exception of Lay Down Your Burdens ( Read more... )

4 airlocks, battlestar galactica, starbuck's a little unhinged, laura could have been more fabulous, gaius wants to pray for you, bill's fortress has been penetrated, cylon party, naked cylons alert!

#2 - I agree on both. Yet another scene where I just want to give Laura a hug, but you do feel for Kara; this is the one person in the whole fleet who might understand, and yet she's refusing to. I understand Laura's viewpoint, though. Laura had visions, yes, and used them to guide the fleet to Kobol and beyond, but Kara actually died. Lee saw her ship blow up. And the only people who come back from the dead after their bodies are destroyed are Cylons. And Laura just cannot allow the Cylons to have a chance at derailing the fleet's journey to Earth.

I love Kara's line here. "I want to hate you. So much". She wants to, but she can't, and I think we see that further on into Season 4, in Guess What's Coming To Dinner, when Kara just immediately helps Laura when she asks. There is a connection there, even if TPTB like to pretend there isn't ( ... )

I'll address your spoiler when I get to that episode. Because I've been thinking the exact same thing.

I totally don't mind that you mention future episodes in your comments. Sometimes it's really good because you jolt me into remembering something I wanted to address but would have forgotten to without that jolt. It's actually super helpful!

I also agree that Mary knows Laura better than the writers ever could. I think Ron Moore said as much in one of the podcasts, too (not just about Mary but about the whole cast). That's why I'm so happy this show was as collaborative as it was. They definitely got some stuff wrong on the characterization front at times, but not as much or as often as it could have been if the writers didn't accept feedback from the writers.

Second, Lee's shirt in this scene is just inhumanely awful.

I am so glad you commented n this. That shirt makes me cringe every time. It's just SO TERRIBLE. Lee must have lost a bet with someone that made him wear that thing.

I am (obviously) way behind on your reviews; I've had way too much going on the last 2 weeks. I'm going to start catching up though, 2 or 3 at a time!

I did notice that you're behind on my reviews and I was horrible offended.

Okay, that was a lie. But I do love when you comment. But don't worry. I don't keep score.

Except that I actually do keep score because you gain so many points for hating Lee's shirt as much as I do. I think when I was watching the series with my friend earlier in the year, I actually told her before we even got to this episode, "Just wait until you see Lee's hideous shirt at his going away party. It's so awful!" It haunts me in my dreams. It's like Scully's star shirt from Roland or her weird black jump suit from Genderbender.

I'm very preoccupied with character wardrobe, obviously.
