The Passage

May 13, 2010 19:52

Can I reminisce with you about the first time I watched The Passage? I was a senior at Michigan and it was only a week or two before the fourth season premiere and I was trying my hardest to catch up on the show so I could finally watch it live because I finally had the Sci-Fi Channel. So, I was watching four episodes on a disc, as quickly as ( Read more... )

Just randomly dropping by to say I love your reviews, and have been following them for a while. Hope you don't mind me commenting.

And how come they can only relay the jump coordinates after they've visually seen their ship? Presumably, even if they can't see the ship, the ship is somewhere near by. Why not relay the coordinates, anyway? Maybe the ship is too far away due to the radiation, but why not try? No one bothered to try though Racetrack did get coordinates to a ship that wasn't hers.

Again, I don't understand why this was set up the way it was. Please feel free to explain it to me.My (extremely shoehorned-in) explanation for it was that maybe you can't plot jumps very easily ahead of time like that, because the coordinates are as much as about where exactly you are as they are about where you want to get to. So the pilots in the Raptors are having to set their computers to calculate the coordinates in the midst of the radiation, and need to be as close as they can to their sheep-ship so that the calculations work for both ( ... )

Actually, I do mind you dropping by and complimenting me and commenting. How dare you?

Ha! Just kidding! I really appreciate you taking the time. When I looked in my inbox and saw that I had a comment, I was probably too excited that it was from someone new. Nerd= Me.

I hope you'll comment more in the future because I'm totally willing to take your wank and make it mine. I think you make what could be a very plausible explanation for that plot point. And it makes more sense than any alternative I can think of. A+!

Well, you know, I don't like to presume ... ;) Is it ok if I friend your journal?

I sure will if I can think of anything remotely interesting to say! I'm kind of new to BSG, having only watched the series earlier this year, so it's cool to see that I haven't entirely missed the boat with the fandom, and that there are still plenty of cool people out there talking about the show. I'm trying to think up some interesting stuff to put in my own journal, but, well, we'll see.

re. the explanation, I just spend way too much time thinking about BSG! Mostly Laura and her storyline, but filling in plotholes is always good fun too.

I'm new to the fandom myself, though I've been watching the show for a few years now. There are some cool communities on LJ for BSG talk but I've still not found one that's exactly what I want it to be: In depth discussion of BSG plot and characters. Since I have all these thoughts floating in my head, I figured I might as well blog about it since I can't find anywhere else to dump it all.

Glad to meet a fellow Laura fan. I mean, I kind of like her, too. Just a little.

And yes, please friend away. Or I'll friend you, since I'm already here and all. I hope you do put some cool stuff up on your own journal!

I've never really "gotten" this episode and what's going on, exactly. I still like it overall, but I've always been baffled on the whole trip thing. I liked Kat most of the time, so i thought it was sad but a perfect end for her.

And I SO wish they'd kept that scene in. I just love how it winds everyone together, even Helo & Athena. It's just a lovely bit.

I really disliked Kat most of the time (heightened because I just watched "Scar" with some friends) but that scene with Adama at the end gets me every time.
