So this year has been long and tough, but I've survived! I taught 6th-11th graders with 7 unique curriculum plans. Most of my classes were very well behaved, and I overall felt like we were very successful together ( Read more... )

Sounds familiar!
I learned not to call it "bell work" or a "bell ringer", just another assignment or what you do when you walk in the door.

Also, I give "checkmarks" for misbehaviors, att he end of the week if you have no checkmarks you qualify for a drawing... which leads to candy or a good phone call home.

Seventh graders are beasts everywhere. Lol.

Consistency is what works best with them.
