I sent the following email to my principal about Tim last night--edited slightly to remove her name, other teacher's names and to change Tim's real name to his pseudonym of "Tim":
I hope you can find some resolution with the social worker actually going to the home. We have a few families that don't actually live where they are supposed to and they usually get really cooperative when people start coming to the house. I'm just amazed at the hoops you have to jump through. We're a very small K-8, and our principal is the one that will come pull the kid out of class, talk to the kid, call the parents, and follow through visiting the home if he can't get anywhere. Probably why he's so exhausted. :)
