Do you eat banana butts?

Ok, ok... 3rd post of the day.  I guess this is what happens when I try to relax.

I just made myself a chocolate/peanut butter/banana yogurt smoothie and as I prepped it I just automatically cut of the butts of my banana.  This all comes from when I was a little girl and a schoolmate told me that bugs laid their eggs in the ends of bananas.  So, I

weirdo #2 here, I have never eaten the butts on bananas or hot dogs for that matter..:)

I've never even heard of the butt part of the banana... LOL, so I guess that means I eat them (unless they are mushy, but that's just because that's gross).

I don't really - I cut the very tip off or leave it in the peel. I never thought about it as the butt, it makes sense though. Hmmm you really do learn something new everyday.

I've never heard of it as the butt but it does make sense! That being said, all banana butts and heads in our house are claimed by either the dogs or the birds. If you eat a banana you have to give a part to all of them :)
