It's been ages since I've participated on here and I feel I should jump back in before I lose my Pros license. :-P

As you guys know, Doyle is my favourite character, but in the light of certain personal events, I've started to wonder a bit more about him. He's energetic and reckless, mercurial in emotions and has incredibly devastating guilt

It's an intriguing idea - I can't recollect Doyle being particularly messy, even his famed scruffiness is artfully affected (I know this because I'm genuinely scruffy at heart - heaven alone knows what I'll be like when I don't have to work anymore).

Of course, he famously joined the force to get some discipline - it's possible that what we see of latter day Doyle is simply habits drummed into him while in uniform and therefore not reflective of his true self.

And I can't recall a scene where Bodie is seen entertaining amidst the tea chests, perhaps that's because Doyle puts less emphasis on getting unpacked.

I'm not sure it's true, but I'd happily accept a fic that explored the idea.

I don't know enough about ADHD to comment, but it's an interesting thought. I might have to do a bit of reading up.

Interesting idea! He's my favourite too. My grandson has been diagnosed with autism plus ADHD and I can certainly see similarities but perhaps not the full spectrum. I'll have to think about it!

I love our Doyle. As someone with mild Hyperactivity (plus dyslexia and mixed brain dominance), I don't particularly see that in Doyle. He is very cerebral and intense on occasion, with lots of introspection, but I don't see the jumping from one activity to another and tendency to do lots at one time. I myself am fairly tidy. (If you are in a certain other fandom, I do see it in Starsky.)
