I thought the 'midweek informal reccing' which saintvic posted a couple of weeks ago was terrific and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that, maybe even on a regular basis? Perhaps not every week as people are busy but every now and again?

http://teaandswissroll.livejournal.com/496705.html

I love the 20 minute fic challenges which have produced some good work, neither too long or too short and more satisfying than the 100 word drabbles (IMHO).

Mentioning stories which you've just found and enjoyed?

And I wondered if there could be some kind of link or reminder to Daily Pros which is a blog not to be missed?!

[P.S.I would have tried to do more challenges but the last few times I've found them a bit too hard and I couldn't come up with anything, but I did try.]

Wheeee! What a lovely lot of suggestions - thank you! :D

I think the informal reccing is a nice feature because it encourages positive vibes for stories and there will always be a gem recc'd that someone hasn't yet read.

Our lovely saintvic does a marvellous job with the Daily Pros, and you're right - it should get all the recs it can :)

Good suggestion. I've now added a link to Daily Professionals under "other useful links."

I have basically stopped doing the obbo writing because it doesn't get many comments. Either people aren't interested or I'm not doing very well with them. Plus the deadlines can be tough.

I think people are too busy to read much fic lately (the Big Bang?) but it's a little discouraging to post new stuff when there aren't many readers; at least that's how it seems to me.

I'd love to see more AU games, and maybe some discussions. I've been meaning to ask a couple questions but never quite got up my nerve. ^^

Thanks for you suggestions about AU games and discussions. I and my fellow mods will be seeing what everyone comes up with and having a chat about them all.

The deadlines for the obbo can be tough but we do hope that they generate some more plot bunnies for you. And, of course, if you do go over the deadline, remember you can still post your story; we welcome any and all stories here at TSR, it just won’t be part of that week's obbo.

Activity on livejournal, whether reading, writing, games, dicsussion and so on, does seem to go in cycles. Sometimes it's very busy and sometimes quiet but we always want to see more Pros stuff so we hope to come up with things that’ll get people interested.

Thanks for your reply. :)

I would like to understand the activity cycle of comms, but maybe it's all just random??

And Yay! I'm glad you'll take AU games under advisement. Because, you know, I LOVE AU games. :D

I must confess I'm not a fast reader, dislike reading online and don't like rushing through stories so I find it almost impossible keeping up with all the writing which comes online but I do have a long list of stories waiting to be read on my new kindle e.g. I haven't forgotten your doppelhanger story(!) so what I'm trying to say not very succinctly is that I really hope you don't give up the challenges as I always enjoy your writing. (Phew....that didn't take long, did it?)

[You write as 'allie' as well, I think? I've really enjoyed your first meeting stories at DIAL.]

I love the general chatting and squeeing - everything else is icing on the Swiss roll for me. And I agree with shooting2kill *waves* about the informal reccing a couple of weeks back - that really seemed to tickle everyone's fancy, so to speak. *g*

Squeeing is always of the good :D

That's 2 votes for the informal reccing then - excellent stuff!

Thanks Petal ♥

I'll admit, I don't join in on fic challenges often, but I do enjoy them when I can and really loved those twenty minute fic challenges which I could fit into my day once in a while.

I ALWAYS like Pros related discussions. And the games have been fun!
