Fanlore Update

Some of you know I'm helping out adding vids and Pros content to Fanlore. Here's a post about the latest thing we did, an informal training session. It was actually fun. Not only did the gals answer specific coding questions, we enjoyed talking about ourselves and fandoms

Actually, I wouldn't mind learning how, but I am better with watching and mimicking that doing by free style, so maybe at MW, if you have time, you can show me?

Sure! I'd be happy to. Thankfully it's easy to fix/edit your mistakes and nothing can't be removed or fixed or deleted. Thankfully there is a certain set of coding to use that is far easier than html. It's easier than I thought.

We all have things we might want to see preserved in any fandom so this is the place to do it. It's also the place to add to the history of any fandom that has a timeline. Some folks may have information that nobody else may have or memories about cons/fans long gone. New stuff is welcome also. I added my vids from February. I'm adding things about me so I can have a record of myself. :)

Thanks for the info. I may be able to squeeze in some volunteer time in a month or so, fingers crossed.

That's be great. There's no such thing as too little. Heck if you do one story a day or even a week, or a vid, that's fine. I haven't checked out the LOM info but there is probably stuff that needs done there also. It's nice that it's a wide open field and you can pick what you want to do. I've also asked for as "assignment" with vids so I've been adding vid content in other fandoms also. I've actually watched some pretty cool vids. I'm easily distracted. LOL!

I admit I was doing some Doctor Who and one was based on Eccleston's doctor. I was thrilled since he's my fav. Unfortunately, though, a lot of the older (and by "older" I mean 2006 and 2007) vid links are dead. While I added the content or info that I could find, those vids are long gone. I even checked google and youtube. I think out of a dozen or more dozen or more dead links, I found two or three by searching for them. The rest are gone into cyberspace somewhere. LJs and websites are bye bye.
