A little while ago ruuger wrote about her die hard narrative kinks, causing me to think about the narrative 'kinks' that keep me coming back for more.  I don't have quite as many as ruuger, but there are a some that do it for me every time.

Well, that's because the post would have been too long if I'd included a lot of examples from other genres ... no, I'm lying, it's because I mainly watch Sci-fi and fantasy.
