Come to think of it, this is the right way to do October.

I have made poor use of my Monday.

I took up playing Umineko no Naku Koro ni again, and have been going at it pretty steadily today. I managed to not spend all day at it, taking up some other time reading Gaudy Night and other time doing some actual work. I have some dubious ambitions in the web design direction, which I'm really hoping will help ( Read more... )

anime, design, visual novels, books are fine too, work

Seen GN's back synopsis. Seems like something I'd like. Thanks for the intro. :)

You'd be surprised of who Maria really is. That's the only spoiler you get.
Did Jessica turn into Akiha yet???

It's largely love story. Be warned.

Stop with the %$#& spoiler hints already! *glare glare*

Jessica still seems to be Jessica. No sign of long black hair or hairbands or fiery demon powers... or whatever you may be talking about (and no, I don't want you to tell me). -_-

No, it's not that mushy at all. There's really too much distance and aggression and restraint and such things to allow for mushiness. It gets mushy in the next book, when they go on their honeymoon. :p

My theory for Maria is disorganized schizophrenia.

'This type is characterized by prominent disorganized behavior and speech including flat or inappropriate emotion and affect. This type of schizophrenia is also known as hebephrenia, and is named after the Greek goddess of youth, Hebe, in reference to the typical young age of onset....
The emotional responses of people diagnosed with this subtype can often seem strange or inappropriate to the situation. Inappropriate facial responses may be common and behavior is sometimes described as 'silly', such as inappropriate laughter.'

I actually really like Maria. Mainly because I, too, was a creepy, mentally ill, magic-obsessed single-parent child (though mine wasn't abusive). But I digress.

That seems to fit, actually. If that's the case, then, given schizophrenia's strong link with genetics, it's lucky that so many of the other family members seem... relatively normal.

I like her too, really. She's cute, if weird. :p
