Well, from looking over the Wiki article, this, mmm, experience can come in a lot of different forms. So yeah. Seems like this kind is the most common one, though.

Makes me wonder what it would be like to attach personalities to sounds and whatnot.

I guess the closest thing we could imagine is... well, living in constant presence of pseudo-people. Something like that. *Grin*
