I definitely understand what you're saying. I find my beliefs are called into question all the fucking time, and it can be annoying when I just don't want to have to explain myself, especially to people who are dumber than me. I also find there's a marked difference between people who are genuinely trying to understand or challenge a contrasting point of view through legitimate political discourse, and people who are already convinced they're right, cannot be covinced otherwise, and insist on making you agree with them
