Anyone heard news of the 4th novel?

Dec 21, 2008 15:43

Amazon.com said the 4th novel was supposed to be released on the 16th.

However, I went to my local comic book shop and called two bookstores, and no one even had it in their systems, let alone in their stores.

So has anyone heard of the release being pushed back, or gotten their hands on the novel, or is Tokyopop pulling another Kino no Tabi?

Wondering the same thing myself as online stores either seem to be saying out of stock, or give no option to buy at all. And I can't find anything on the Tokyopop website (though since that website has gone all community, it's near impossible to find out any info you want on a certain manga. Every time I go onto it, I can't find the damn schedule.)

Tokyopop is having SEVERE financial difficulties this year. They laid off roughly half of their staff and either cancelled or postponed a very large percentage of their titles. The light novels were hardest hit as none of them have been selling very well.
The Karin novels, for instance, are now completely cancelled.

There hasn't been an announcement about FMP specifically. At least not yet. But, you'll be lucky if you see the fourth volume in 2009 if at all.

I heard about their situation, but I was hoping FMP was okay since I hadn't heard any news...

Darn it! I was really looking forward to finally getting more of the story that's past the anime! *sigh* Hopefully someone else, like yen press, could get the rights if tp falls through.

Oh noes! I didn't know about that! That's terrible! TokyoPop is like THE manga/novel distributor for like everything! I can't believe they laid off that many people! D: I guess more and more people aren't reading manga or what? O_o

I really hope someone picks up FMP if TokyoPop didn't drop it...that's so depressing!
