Fai was sore from the injuries he sustained during the earthquakes, concerned by the volcano, and to be honest rather overwhelmed with the cleanup before him. Besides, there was no guarantee that the eruption was over. It was possible this was just a lull in the eruption.

But he found himself restless while inside, and a lull was a lull, and he headed out to look around and see if he could be of any help anywhere, and how badly the grocery had fared.

He was thinking about the grocery and his coworker and his traveling companions, and wondering where they were, and a multitude of other things, so he didn't look where he was going, and tripped over a fallen plank.

His natural grace allowed him to recover without going sprawling, but his step and twist caused him to back into someone who had been working not far from the path, whom he had not even noticed as he was walking.

At least Ashura-ou had heard the footsteps approaching, and was already starting to turn when the steps faltered, having enough time to let go of the tools he'd been using. It didn't keep him from being knocked into, but he didn't fall-good thing, considering he'd have speared himself on a wooden plank.

Turning the rest of the way around, he swiftly put firm hands on the stranger's arms to steady him.

"Careful there. Are you injured?"

Fai had already opened his mouth to apologize when the stranger spoke and caused his lungs to cease their function. That voice was so familiar...so much like...

But it couldn't be. It wasn't. It just couldn't be. He just sounded a little like him. That was it. Of course. But he found himself unable to turn to confirm or deny the fact, or move away from the hands that had grasped him.

So his answer was a rather incoherent noise.

A frown appeared, and honest concern slipped into Ashura-ou's expression at the odd sound and the complete stillness of the other. Hoping the stranger was steady, but not confident he hadn't somehow hurt him, he removed his grasp on the other's elbows and stepped back.

"If I have harmed you in some way, it was unintentional and I apologize."
