Alberich was on one of his usual jogs around the 'safe' area of the island when he came across a face that was somewhat-familiar, but definitely younger than he remembered. He stopped in his tracks, trying to make himself look at least a little less threatening at first.

After a moment had passed, Alberich turned slightly so he could still look at the boy, but part of his back was to him as well. "You should to the village go."

The teen relaxed ever so slightly when Alberich turned away a bit, not that the other looked away from him of course. At the suggestion, one he couldn't find fault with or reasons to argue against going, he simply transfered his gaze back the way Alberich had come before returning it to the taller man, silently asking if the village was that way.

Alberich nodded, about to head towards the village anyways. He might as well guide Severus there, and show him some of what he could expect there. Turning further on his heel in proper military style, he headed back towards the village.

Severus gave a slight nod before he walked just behind and to one side of Alberich, as he'd been painfully trained was proper for their roles as he saw them. If he allowed himself to admit it, he rather appreciated the older man's quiet, it was a pleasant change to what he'd expected after stepping through that portal.

Alberich preferred quiet to noise a lot of the time, no surprise given his upbringing. Silence meant that there was not going to be bloodshed, and that there was nothing that was going to be happening. He also disliked inane chatter when it was not necessary.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the edges of the village where the school and sports complex were. "This the school is. As we closet get, the huts into view will come."

Where as Severus preferred quiet as it meant he was less likely to be hurt or humiliated.

He let his gaze wander just a little when they reached the edge of the village, unable to completely stifle his curiosity.

"..Huts?"

Alberich nodded, not about to waste too many words. "Yes. People live four people to one hut. You should an assignment soon receive."

Severus simply nodded, accepting yet another choice taken from him. He doubted it'd do him any good if he spoke out about it, speaking out almost never boded well for him, and generally meant a great deal of pain. It had yet to occur to him whether he was the only wizard, as he understood the term, on the island or not.

"Have you questions?" Alberich was willing to help out Severus for a moment, knowing from experience what being taken from one's home was like. Just having someone explain things was the best thing.

Severus glanced at him, studying the older man for a moment before offering a tentative question.

"What do most people ask, when they first arrive?"

"Varies with the person." Alberich shrugged slightly, stopping in the middle of the housing area by the board with the assignments on it. "Usually, the first question 'where am I?' is."

Severus turned his attention to the board, noting his name was on it stating which hut he was in.

"..After that?"

"Where sleep I, or what is there, to do."

All of which the teen had either already been told, or had figured out for himself. Managing to stifle any outward display of impatience, minus his eyes-which he kept trained on the board, he gave a slight nod. If those were the questions most people asked when they got to the island, so be it.

Alberich looked at the hut listing as well, grateful that the babelfish translated the written language. He nodded in approval at Severus' hut, pleased that the teenager was with one of his students.
