Summary: Byakko meets Schuldig and mischief follows.

Byakko was standing on the beach, staring out at the ocean. The sand was great, but he wasn't quite ready to go near the water yet. Sure tigers didn't always have an aversion to liquid, but it wasn't hot enough to subject himself to getting wet just yet. His long striped tail swayed back and forth and his long hair was caught in a breeze that only seemed to affect him.

Schuldig walked along the beach, debating whether or not to go back to his hut just yet. As he walked, he spotted someone else. They seemed normal enough, but the striped tiger tail was something odd... This might be interesting. He walked over in their direction.

Immediately he picked up the smell of someone on the wind. Turning to look in Schuldig's direction, the feline Shiki beamed at the unknown man, an elongated fang showing. Waving drastically, Byakko called out. "Hello!"

"Hello," Schuldig remarked, studying the new person. "I haven't seen you here before." He checked without the other person knowing to see if the other was guarded against someone reading their thoughts.

There was a barrier, almost like a gust of wind attempting to push Schu away from his thoughts. "I'm relatively new. Plus I've been a little invisible since coming here.

Schuldig nodded. And there was yet another he could not read... Well, it was good because it cut the background noise, but it also limited his possibilities. "I see. Well, invisible is something new, but it so not the strangest I've heard."

"Yes, invisible is only one of my many tricks. If I tell you all of them, you might use them against me." Byakko laughed, having not even felt his attempt at a mental intrusion. Schu may not have seen him, but the Shiki had in his many wanderings over the island. "I'm Byakko by the way."

"Schuldig," he replied. "Quite interesting," he continued, figuring he couldn't get any information the usual way so talking would be the best way to find out. "A fair number of people here have abilities I've noticed."

Red eyes watched the other closely for a moment before looking away. "It's quite the collection of people. I suppose it makes things interesting for who ever is watching."

Schuldig nodded. "Indeed it does." He hadn't really been using his abilities lately... at least not that someone would realize he had been. Usually someone only realized it when he went after someone... or when he spoke telepathically to them.

"So, you too believe that there is someone out there watching us?" He was curious as to what others thought of this place.

"It is possible. Whatever is controlling this place knows when people burn down buildings and takes those people to task, so obviously something has to be seeing what is going on here."

The shiki hummed in thought. "Does that mean you attempted to burn something down?"

Schuldig chuckled. "No. There was announcement about after the cafe was damaged. I believe it was two men fighting about one of the ladies here."

"Would you be surprised if I said I thought it was you, and am shocked that it's not?" Byakko laughed.

Schuldig sighed rather annoyedly. "No, I'm not surprised that you thought it was me, but arson is not my cup of tea. Besides, I'm not going to burn down the place I work."

"Why not? Then you wouldn't have to go to work." Byakko pointed out.

"Have you met Jon yet?" the orange haired German asked. Jon wasn't the kind of person one wanted to mess with.

"Briefly. He's the werewolf, right?" To be honest, he wasn't really afraid of anyone on the island.

Schuldig nodded. "He is. I wouldn't want to be the one to destroy the cafe with him working there." Besides which... blowing up the cafe was not his style.

"Yes, well, I'm not one to be destructed unless instructed." A toothy grin as he was well aware of the rhyme he had just put together.

Schuldig blinked then shrugged.

Byakko's tail danced behind him. "So what would you be willing to do?" A hint of mischief glinted in his eyes.

"I was planning on dying my boss purple once."

Purple? That was interesting. "Was? Did something happen?"

"Well, never found the right moment to... and then he went home... and back and went home again."

Byakko watched Schu, wondering if he could convince the man to give him the dye, or if he'd have to steal it. Deciding to take a chance he grinned. "Could I have the dye?"

"Sure, why not." He had no reason for it at the moment and was on enough good graces with Zelas that he could probably get more. "What for?"

"Hm...there are many uses for it. At first I was thinking of using it on myself, but I think I just might have gotten a better idea." He was feeling very tricky today.

"Sounds like a plan," Schuldig remarked, grinning.

"There's a little blonde physic who needs to match his boyfriend's eyes for a while." The idea got Byakko thinking. Perhaps there was some green dye somewhere that he could use on said boyfriend.

"Ah. Sounds good," Schuldig said grinning more. "Should we get the dye now or later?"

"I think I need to stop somewhere and get some green dye too. So we should go now!" He was all excited. It seemed he had someone to play pranks with.

Schuldig grinned and headed back towards his hut. Well, he hadn't expected to find someone to prank with but this would work.

Byakko walked beside him. "You do realize that this makes you an accomplice, right?"

"Of course I do," he said with a smirk.

"Good, then you can help me pull it off to," Byakko winked at him.

Schuldig nodded. "Sounds good."

Thinking while they were walking, the shiki wasn't sure if he trusted this guy anywhere near Hisoka or the kid's things, or how Tsuzuki would react and he didn't want to cause that much trouble. "So, do you know Tsuzuki or where he lives?"

"I know of him, but I don't know where he lives."

"Well, he lives in Hut 10," Even though he lived in the same hut as Tsuzuki, he figured that his contractor could defend himself better than Hisoka, plus he didn't exactly know what this guy would do should he get anywhere near the cute little kid. Byakko also told him of what shampoo's was Tsuzuki's.

Schuldig nodded. "So what do you want me to do? Purple or a different color?"

"I was thinking green! Can't do things too similar, that's just not fun." Byakko floated up off the ground as they walked.

Schuldig nodded. "Indeed." He glanced back at Byakko to see him floating. That actually wasn't to surprising. When they got to his hut, he said, "I'll run in and get the dye. My teammate is still staying with me."

Byakko nodded, having no idea who this teammate was. Placing his hands behind his head, red eyes looked up towards the sky.

Schuldig literally ran into his hut, which took a lot less time than one would have expecting. He was back at nearly the same spot in only a matter of seconds with the bottle of purple dye.

The tiger god grinned. "Excellent. Now off to the store to pick up some green!"

Schuldig nodded with a smirk. "Sounds good."
