My very good friend Tim just left for pararescue training in Alaska. I don't know when I'll be able to see him again. And now I'm getting ready to leave, myself. It was a very sobering experience, and I can't help but feel sad.

So this past week has been really cool. Some relatives whom I haven't seen for years came out from Arizona, as well as some from Michigan. We all convened with my Californian relatives and had a partial reunion-esque get together. So we got to escape the heat for a few days at Inverness.
