After class Lauren made her way to the music room, casually strolling the hall until she reached the room. She was one of the first few to arrive. She took a seat in the towards back, knowing she wouldn't be singing today. Lauren let her bag fall to the ground after she took out a book to read before Glee would actually begin.
Jeff shyly followed his boyfriend - god, even the words still sounded unreal in his mind - into the room where the Glee meeting was to be held. Sam strolled ahead, but looked over his shoulder from time to time to make sure Jeff hadn't chickened out. As he had reminded him shortly before, though, Jeff had next to nothing to worry about. His party had been a hit and all those who attended - reportedly at least, they both kind of missed the end of it - had had fun.
Jeff sighed once last time before crossing the threshold to the room. Then, both he and Sam made their way to and sat down in empty chairs. Sam next Lauren, Jeff next to Sam.
Sam sought out Mr. Shue's line of sight, then, pointing at Jeff mouthed ''new member''.
Well... it seemed Jeff Sterling had officially joined Glee.
"I thought I got rid of you two," Lauren huffed, but then gave a small smile She put her book back in her bag before continuing. "Are either of you singing today?" She dropped her voice, "I still have no idea and that's after Sam and I went through the sheet music you provided Jeff. I mean seriously do guys really think some song from the 50s shares my voice?" Lauren crossed her arms over her chest. Personal feelings about the assignment aside, she was determined to find something to sing.
''You'll never get rid of us Lauren. Haven't you figured out that part out yet?'' teased Sam in answer.
Then, he exchanged a glance with Jeff.
''We... just might. I was going through all the songs again a bit earlier and I found something that kind of works for us... as an obscure metaphor. Sorta. It's not exactly... the best lyrics to express who Sam Evans is, you know, but it can do. As a duet too.''
He shrugged. The song selection was ok, but if they went through with their plans and switched gendered pronouns around, who knew what could happen.
Puck walked into the GLEE room, it was his second day back to GLEE in a month. Thanks to a month in a Juvenile Detention center he was ready to get back to singing. He was called so many names there for his singing talent that he got into fights over it. So what if he could sing and that's what passed his time. He got out of there because of good behavior and he was glad about that, but there was no way that he was going to tell people that there were more badass people in there then he was

Lauren noticed Puck smirk at her as soon as he walked into the room. It caused her to glare back. She really hadn't expected him to show up, not that she knew why. He told her how much he enjoyed glee club.
He sang a song Lauren recognized as Elvis. Her foot tapped along to the beat until he winked at her the first time. She felt her cheeks go a bit pink and she assumed she was blushing. Lauren didn't even know she could blush and she prayed no one noticed. She quickly looked down, but not for long. Feeling that she had gained her composure with her poker face now on, she watched the rest of the performance and did her best to ignore several more winks. When he finished Lauren didn't clap. Instead she crossed her arms.
Puckerman knew that maybe with this song maybe he would have a chance of taking her out on a date and properly getting to know her. He would show her a great time, and maybe it would land them at lover's lane.
Seeing her cross her arms he went and sat in front of her. And all he could do was smirk and smile. But he had to turn around and look at her. "So what do you think? I told you that I have some talent." He gave her a smile.
Rachel walked into GLEE with a big smile on her face. She was having the greatest week ever, noone was going to bring her down, not even Jesse. After sitting down she saw Puck, she had really given him a piece of her mind when he came back from the Juvenile Detention Center. She then was shocked at what she was seeing, was Puck interested in Lauren? That was really strange but she still was smiley and giggly

Rachel was singing next and of course she was rambling on before actually doing her song. Lauren never heard what she said, but she did pay attention once the young brunette sang. Lauren didn't know the song, but she thought Berry's performance was fun, and she clapped for Rachel when it was over. She even gave her a smile.
Rachel was very happy with her song. It brought her back to her days as a little girl and dancing with her dad. Then of course dancing with her other father when she went and visited him. Seeing Lauren clap and smile at her she looked at her and gave her a smile back. "So what song are you going to be singing Lauren?"
"I actually don't know yet. I'm having a difficult time finding a song that has my voice in it...I'll have a song next time, and it's gonna be awesome. I can guarantee it." Actually she couldn't, but Lauren figured no one else had to know that.
"You did good, by the way. It looked like you had fun." Lauren suddenly thought of the notes the two girls passed earlier that day, and hoped Rachel wouldn't bring them up now. Lauren though Rachel had done surprising well by not asking questions so far. She gave Rachel another smile.
Sam and Jeff both spent the first half of this glee club meeting politely clapping at everybody's performances, clearly a little stressed about their own upcoming one. They had decided to make it a duet... and the song's lyrics metaphorically expressed something Sam had been trying to say out loud for a long time now... but they both were unsure as to how it would be received

Lauren actually listened to Sam's little introduction he made before the boys sang their song. She really wasn't sure she heard right. It sounded that with this the song they were making a statement. Sam and Jeff were coming out? It was a very bold move and Lauren was impressed. She knew it wasn't easy no matter what the decade, but coming out in the the 50s seemed even more difficult.
She listened to their song and noted how well they harmonized together. At the end, Lauren clapped. She was happy for them. They sounded great, but mostly she was impressed. Sam came a long way from that boy she thought she knew roughly two months ago. She flashed both boys a smile. Secretly, Lauren hoped there wouldn't be some kind of retaliation. It was doubtful that anyone here was that judgmental. She then wondered who picked up on Jeff and Sam's subtle proclamation.
Mercedes was shocked. There wasn't really any other way to describe what she was feeling about Sam and Jeff's song, about what they had just done. Had they actually just come out? Via song? In the fifties? She was impressed, really. With both of them.
She beamed at the two boys when they were finished with the song, and clapped more enthusiastically than she had with anyone else's songs in the past. Perhaps it was because no one else had had the balls to do something like this. She knew she wouldn't have the balls to do it.
