This was going to be a success, or his name wasn't Jeffrey Sterling )
Lauren had no problem finding the Sterling mansion. In fact she managed to reach it at seven. Great, she thought. She showed up for a party on time, something she didn't even do for own party a few weeks ago. She thought she was the first one here. Lauren waited in her car for a few minutes to see if anyone else would arrive. Sighing, and reminding herself that she was still a badass-no matter how early she arrived for a party-Lauren stepped out of her car.
She took a moment to admire the house. It was huge and beautiful. Frankly, Lauren thought it had her name all over it.
She rang the doorbell and waited.

She knew that Sam wasn't too terribly fond of eating baked goods. Something about them messing up his abs. Or something. She shrugged it off when he started eating a piece of cake, she figured he was being polite. But then he started drinking. Would't drinking also mess up his abs?
"Yeah, Sam. Drinking too much makes you do silly things. And you'd have to crash here. At Jeff's...." She trailed of for a moment, then smirked once more. "Maybe that's why you decided to pick up the habit of drinking?"

''Well, I mean, I hardly know the guy. He's cute - sure, but you know, this is the 1950s.''
Sam alternated between taking sips of his drink and forkful of cake into his mouth.
''And while I wouldn't be opposed to getting to know him better, I'm not expecting anything to actually happen. Neither should you. I mean... realistically speaking and all... Unless you know something I don't? In other news, the cake's *really* good.''
At this point, all his self-loathing regarding his body image seemed to have temporarily vanished, while he was under the influence of alcohol. Sam's inhibitions were apparently drastically lowered.

''All I said is that he's probably straight - thus, it's not a great idea for me to make a move. I don't know him that well... yet anyway, so...''
At this point, he stopped and finished his piece of cake.
''... Yeah, but if it would bring you some sort of satisfaction to hear me say it... Well, look at him. He probably doesn't need to spend 20 hours per week in the gym to look decent, unlike some people... Yeah, I think he's cute. Like... really, really cute.''

''Who's really cute Sam?''
While waiting for the boy to answer, he addressed the group.
''By the way, Brittany's here. She's... something, isn't she? I hope you guys didn't miss me to much...''

She threw her head back, laughing. Forcing herself to stop, she said, "Yeah Sam, who's really cute?" She took a sip of her drink to keep from laughing more. The smile was still evident though. When Jeff addressed the group as a whole, and not just Sam, Lauren shifted her attention on him.
"Brittany's here too? She's awesome. I'd say you're having quite a successful party, Jeff." She gave him a genuine smile. "We missed you very much...right Sam?" Lauren threw Sam a wicked smile and she stood there, preparing to watch Sam sweat and most likely ramble.

''What? Oh umm, well... to tell you the truth... I was... I was talking about... about you Jeff.''
Had he been sober, he never would have stated such a thing, but right now he wasn't thinking.
''You're just... you're really cute. And I know you're probably not into guys, considering... everything. But... yeah.''

''I'm glad you're enjoying yourself Lauren, I have to say, the group seems to really know how to have fun... I definitively think I'll have to join the club now. Plus, you know, this place could become the official party place.'' replied the boy, with a small grin.
Then, Sam's statement was finally processed by his brain. The young man wasn't exactly sure how to react. He'd always known that gender wasn't a determining factor for his attractions. He was able to look past that, he cared about persons themselves. Still, he'd always known that wasn't the norm in society. He tensed. Should he admit to that? He didn't know... for all he knew, the Glee kids were setting him up.
''I... thank you.''
He smiled softly, a plan already forming in his mind. He turned to the Lauren and Mercedes.
''Not that I mind... but is Sam here fully aware of what exactly he's saying? Perhaps he should sleep it off. My room's available... what do you guys think?''

Hearing Sam speak honestly had stunned Lauren, and she couldn't bring herself to say much. Apparently there was some truth behind 'a drunk mind speaks a sober heart'. Jeff seemed to be taking it really well and was even prepared to give Sam his bed....
Wait, really? Lauren glanced at Jeff, trying to read him carefully. She grinned though she still wasn't sure what to think. "You know I think that would be for the best. You should probably escort him now. He's not used to drinking at all and I doubt he could stand much longer." Her voice was nonchalant, but there was a trace of a smile on her lips. She caught Sam's eye and smirked.

''Right, if he's not a frequent drinker... I'll make sure he gets to bed without killing himself or destroying anything valuable in the process.'' replied the blond boy.
Then a thought hit him.
''This is my house though... can I trust you guys not to destroy everything while I'm keeping an eye on this fellow here?'' he said, while putting his hand of Sam's shoulder. The boy really seemed in bad shape.
''Looks like I should really get him there, I trust you Lauren! Don't make me regret this!''
Without another word, he gently guided a disoriented Sam to his bedroom, shutting the door behind them.
[OOC: For practical reasons, this will be continued in a thread. If you need Jeff to do host-y stuff, just... have someone knock on the door. He might or might not be able to help you :P ]

"Hey," she maintained the smile on her face as she stepped in and followed Jeff. "Pretty snazzy place you have, Jeff. I'm Lauren. Uh thanks for having the party."
Reply
''And yeah, this place is pretty awesome. Not mine. Yet. One day, down the line, probably. Unless my parents decide to give it away to charity or something.'' joked the boy. ''Though, you're quite welcome for the party. Please, make yourself at home.''
A beat passed.
''So, you're in Glee club? I'm considering joining, is it fun?''

When Jeff spoke again, she focused back on him. "Glee's...fun. I guess," she shrugged. "Everyone's pretty chill. Do they say that here? Uh, I meant everyone is cool. For the most part. And the music's good." Especially with all the songwriters among us, but she kept that part to herself. "You should join." She didn't know why she was encouraging the boy, but Lauren figured if he wanted to join, he should. It was that simple.

He sent her a smile, then motioned to the food and drinks.
''Can I get you anything?''
