Finn headed into the diner, wanting to get something to eat. He had decided to stop and get a snack on the way home. He saw Rachel sitting at a table and walked over to her table. "Rachel, do you mind if I sit with you?" He totally wanted Rachel back. He didn't care what he had to do, but it was going to have to be something.

Sipping on her milkshake she began to mark with a pen which songs were most interesting to her. Not really noticing anyone that was in the diner at the moment. But she heard a voice, looking up she saw that it was Finn. Giving him a smile she put her hand out indicating that he could sit with her. "Of course you can." She still was having those feelings for Finn. He always made her smile. "So how are things? You anxious about the cast list for the musical?" She said as she put the straw to her mouth and sucked her shake once more.

Finn happily sat down across from her and gave her a smile. He said, "Yeah, I guess. I am sure you'll get Maria, Rach. I'm a little nervous that I won't get Tony. I was totally nervous during my audition." He wanted to ask how she was feeling since she broke up with Jesse. He didn't like that guy at all. He supposed it was just because he had dated Rachel.

She decided that she would work on her audition pieces later. Talking to Finn was a lot more fun anyways. It reminded them of when they were first dating and him always making her laugh. "I sure hope so. Mercedes and Santana were just as good. But I think you were great, you have the emotions to carry the part Finn. Besides, I wouldn't want to be star crossed lovers with Jesse, it would just be too weird right now." She shook her head. "So lets just say that I'll be rooting for you to get the part."

Rachel was glad that Finn agreed to dance with her. It was really like old times and she was kind of gladd that he didn't see her latest performance at the little glee party at the diner. She then laid her head on his shoulder almost forgetting that she wasn't ready to enter into another relationship with him. When he kissed her, she kissed him back,

But after a few moments, she backed away and shook her head. "I can't do this Finn. I want to be able to get close to you again but I just can't right now. I'm really confused and my mind is just going at a thousand miles an hour right now."

Finn had thought it might end up this way. He wasn't going to stop trying. Not matter what, he was going to get her back. He said, "You know, it's OK, Rachel, because I will do whatever I have to to get you back." He couldn't help but smile, she had kissed him back for a second. Finn thought it would be good to keep that to himself. "I definitely don't regret it."

She didn't want to do this, but she knew that she had to. But Rachel was glad that Finn reacted the way that he did. "I just need time for my heart to heal. I do want to be with you, its just that how can I give my whole heart to you when my heart feels like its only half there." She appreciated that he would wait for her. "I promise that I will let you know when that happens." She then walked over to the jukebox to find another song to play, she didn't need to be home for a while if she chose not to.

Finn watched her go over to the jukebox, a smile on his face. He was planning on singing a song to her in glee, so it was only a matter of time. He called said, "Pick something good, Rach, I like dancing with you." He told himself he was going to have to behave, no matter how he felt about her. She was right, he was going to have to prove himself.
