(no subject)

Some of the heat that has warmed the city for the past few weeks has dissipated a little, becoming a little cooler, a little clammier. Muggy. There’s a very thin, barely-there sort of mist hanging low in the streets, not the thick, all-obscuring fog that, in the past, preceded blood and murder but something faint and light.

A siren will sound in the early afternoon, loud, ringing through the city, like the ones from the hospital.

There will be no explanation as to what it means, or as to what it heralds, but it will start raining, gently at first, then to one of those warm summer downpours. Perfectly normal, then.

Until it begins to turn pale pink. And then to a deeper cerise. And then red.

It will begin to gather as any rain does, in gutters, in furrows in the earth. And the rain will continue falling all the way through until the next morning, stopping once or twice as though to catch a breath.

If you are not one to be kept indoors by the rain, and go out, you might find someone you’ve been missing.

Someone from home, someone from your past, your life before the End of the World, newly arrived and soaked to the skin, their hair plastered to their head. They’ll be trying to find something in this ruinous city, be it shelter or a way home or, perhaps, you.

Chase them, find them, and the closer you get, the less whole they seem, the less corporeal. And when you catch them, when they look at you, blood will be pooling in their eyes, glazing them as tears would, and trickling down their faces, almost black. It will ooze from their noses, their mouths, their teeth stained pink. Laughter will bubble in their throats -

And then they’ll attack.

((OOC: As ever, this event is completely optional. It will last until Friday night, with the rain more or less stopping tomorrow morning but for a few showers scattered sporadically over the next couple of days. The ghosts will have whatever weapons or skills the one they appear to be would have - for example, if you were fighting a Roxas, he’d be just as powerful as the one we all know and love. The only way to get rid of them is to take their heads off - but that won’t stop Discordia sending some more in their wake.

You CAN see people from World's End - on the condition that they have died in their canon or in WE.))
