The Hugo (Weaving) Awards and Team Talebones

It was a good Hugo Awards in several ways for alumni from Talebones.

Of course the emcees for the night were Talebones alums (and Fairwood Press authors) Jay Lake & Ken Scholes, who kept the crowd chuckling and groaning as they got just about every famous Hugo mentioned until realizing it was Hugo Gernsback the awards were named after ( Read more... )

I watched the awards through the livestream. Not quite as good as being there, but I probably had a better view than any actual seat in the house.

Robert Silverberg was brilliant, as always, and I loved that they gave the Big Heart Award to Gay Haldeman.

Missed having you there, Jim. I would have cleaned your clock in Hugo golf, however. I got 8 choices right.

Yes, I only had six right. I know nothing about fanzines, related works, dramatic presentation short form, semiprozines, fan writer or fan artist.
