Do you lock the trombone case when traveling? I feel like it would be one of those things where you buy a cheap starter pistol (or hell, a dummy pistol) and declare the instrument case to be a firearm case JUST SO you can lock it. Then again, I guess you'd risk losing a key, so maybe not worth it.
I think you're missing the point. The point is that you include a firearm of some sort in your case, declared as per TSA regulations, and along with that are able to legally lock your luggage with a non-TSA approved lock to prevent tampering by TSA agents or other unscrupulous (or just plain curious) baggage handlers. People with expensive cameras and other recording equipment have been doing this for years. However, considering the overall volume of luggage these days, it may be overkill.

Jameson is doing well. Uncomfortable and depressed but otherwise as good as he can be.
