I was enjoying the petunia content, thinking how in a million years did you even find a glow in the dark plant?!? (I'm sure you said it and I forgot, but the variety of things some people find and others know nothing about amuses me)
They were marketed and sold by a company called Light Bios which has been working on bioluminescent plants since the 80s. An ad came up for them on social media in the spring, so I preordered one and it arrived in July.
I spent a lot of time with the over 60 population when I was working elder abuse cases, and I have to agree with the social worker that you went WAY far above and beyond what is typical. And not only that, but your ideas are SO CREATIVE and interesting. I don't know that I'd have thought to do half the things you came up with. There are some other types of work you can do that don't involve caretaking and can likely be done in a way that keeps your performing work as your primary career, if you're interested. There's usually a significant demand for investigators with Adult Protective Services. They mostly just check out complaints as they come in and do home visits and write reports. Another option is activities direction for nursing home facilities. I used to see a lot of folks doing that part time - just organizing outings, games, or classes at all levels of care for residential facilities. With your history with transcription and ability to be pragmatic though, I think the investigation job could be a good fit

I love hearing the adventure with your firefly petunia! Keep 'em coming! I also love all the hat pics, I'm glad you're enjoying your days there so far. It seems like a nice pace and relaxed atmosphere, just sorry that they don't give you enough hours so you can eschew gig work and focus on whatever else you wanted to.
Thanks for being so kind/thoughtful to people who needed that kind of attention. It really was going the extra mile and shows that you're not cold AT ALL... I think you're just someone who *invests* in other people, and therefore you're careful who you're investing in and how much, rather than trying to people-please your way through life.
Oh good, glad I'm not overdosing people on the flower haha.
I wanted to be a musician. Ya know, the thing I went to school for. But it's cool. Few jobs actually pay well, these days, especially entry level. And there are many people ahead of me in line for music gigs down here, I have to be patient and hope to be called someday.
Investing in people who will be dead soon is, actually, a safe investment, so that's good logic.
