The bus ride to Lafayette was uneventful and long. Unfortunately on this already-tight travel schedule, a few people who have awful time management (or no consideration for others?) took their sweet time. We had to wait an extra ten minutes for stragglers before departing first the hotel, and another ten later at the lunch stop for the same reason

Wow, that is a really nice kitchen setup for a hotel! I'm used to just a little corner of mini-appliances (fridge, microwave, small coffee pot).

Same! Very few offer a full kitchen like this (and those are intended of course for longer stays, for example for construction workers in town for a long-term project or relatives of someone receiving long-term hospital care.)

I don't even have time to use most of these great facilities unless we're here for a week. But the separate sink for dishes is very nice, and having a set of dishes to work with so you don't have to unpack your own, and a full sized fridge, very nice indeed!
