Sorry to hear Jameson didn't get the credit he deserved.... It's funny how hierarchies work, and how it comes with a mentality where you must uphold the hierarchy for efficiency. "We don't have **time** to acknowledge the... choreographer, music director, stage manager, stage designer... even though they also worked tirelessly for this production so... let's just, not! That's what the program is for.... to thank all the "little people" who couldn't fit on the poster!"
Thanks! Again for clarification, I may or may not get to actually work. But being "employed" does come with some nice benefits and opportunities for the future
( ... )
That just sounds like it its a hard (and sucky) place to be.
There is a feeling that I constantly live with which is no matter how I think I earned my position,... I know I'm not the only hard working qualified person who made [event] happen... and public acknowledgement of contributions is how strong leaders get found by the muckity mucks from within a big working group.
I don't think either of you are being unreasonable... but that doesn't fix that problem of feeling put-out by someone you trust and appreciate but who is reaping the benefits of your hard work for themselves without much appreciation.
We both like Clay a lot, I don't want to disparage him and it's not his obligation to help Jameson. I guess it's that A) It would be insanely easy for him to do, and B) the fact that he didn't think to credit the friend who took over so that he could drop his obligations with Encore, is kind of revelatory about the regard in which he holds their relationship. And that's disappointing and sad.

I’m happy to read about your working at Disney. Will that be an easy drive to work for you?
