It was even better than it looked! Wish I could describe the flavors and textures better. A really, super fresh and crisp waffle + sweet spicy horchata and earthy ube and clean creamy custard. It really was more than just cool-looking ice cream!
I was very lucky to get all that food before covid hit.
This is why I am very insistent (to the point of OCD-ish behavior) about getting groceries as soon as possible in a new city. It's because several times when I worked for the circus, something weird happened that prevented me from getting food for literally the entire week in a city. I shower in the morning for the same reason: too many times we'd wake up without water. So I insisted on night showers because at least if I woke up to no water I'd have a day or two of being somewhat clean. Crazy how events like these can instruct our lives.
I can understand that. Our water supply can be a little unreliable, usually only two or three times a year but I always get nervous putting a hair mask on overnight in case I can’t wash it in the morning!
That's a lot. I feel for you, pent up in a hotel room. Even with self-heating Korean barbecue, although that was pretty amusing! I'm glad you are on the mend now.
Yes it was not fun, but could have been far far worse.
For example, if I had tested positive THIS week, although I would have been in a more comfortable place for suffering symptoms I also would have probably been just sent home after five days. No point keeping me around for the last week of shows if I can't perform them!
I could have missed the entire end of tour, saying goodbye to everyone, our last show...I shudder to even imagine it!
So I'm grateful that it happened when it did and in a city I hate anyway :p
