I went to a wedding in Pittsburgh, PA. Here are the observations and highlights...
1. Found out just how wide the state of Pennsylvania is...we drove for 5 hours and we never left it.
2. Pittsburgh dropped the "h" for a period of 20 years around the turn of the 20th century. It's also at the junction of 3 rivers (the Ohio, the Allegheny and the Monongahela). It's primary industry was steel but when the industry died, the city did not. Instead, it underwent a rebirth and now people sometimes have weddings there.
3. The University of Pittsburgh has a gigantic cathedral filled with classrooms representing several nations of the world. The building itself was the inspiration for a major building in Gotham City in the DC comic book Batman. Also, despite being a huge edifice, at night it's very difficult to find since it has so few lights (so beware, low flying pilots!)
4. The Residence Inn pool is very shallow and there's typically a hold up at the waffle maker during breakfast.
5. I got to wear my new suit and Robin wore her new dress.
6. Cracker Barrel is delicious on road trips! We went twice.
Here are some photos...
