So, my car is at a body shop, and I hadn't had the chance to get there to talk about the damage to it until this afternoon. No problem, they'd told me on the phone that they were open until 4:30. Except that when I got there at 3:15, the poor schmuck manning the associated towing company's phones told me that 4:30 meant 3:30 on the Friday before

I've got a very reputable place near me. I imagine an hours drive is far too long for most care repair type stuff, but if you think it's worth it for major repairs, let me know.

I filed a BBB complaint, which probably won't have any effect, and I complained to my regular car maintenance guy when I returned the rental. If nothing else, I'll get an actual estimate out of them on Wednesday, and they'll know that I'm one of his regular and will hopefully not be tempted to screw me over.

If it makes you feel better, there's an LJ community called dot_pagan_snark that is updated at least daily with snarkable stuff. You might enjoy it. You have to message the head of the community that you wish to join. They're fairly easy about, but just tell them that allerion sent you, and the invitation should be in within the day. She was certainly much quicker than the people repairing your car.
