RIP Kenneth Mims

My Papa passed away this morning.  As some of you know, he's been really sick since December.  Today, he went home for good to be with his lovely wife of over sixty years.  She went home to be with Jesus two years ago.  It was peaceful and he was very ready.

My grandfather was a WWII vet who signed up to serve in the United States Navy on his 17th

Thanks so much for your thoughts. He was pretty cool. One of those granddads that would let you curl up in his lap when I was a kid. I have a lot of great memories. :-)

I'm sorry to hear that *hugs*. He sounds like a great man, and the funeral will be a celebration of his life as much as anything else.

*hugs back* Thanks. He was way cool, and we do plan on celebrating his life. He was ready to go, and it was expected, so we had time to prepare and stuff ahead of time.

Thank you. I think it's going to be really cool. Military funerals are always moving to me, and it's so befitting for him. I'm just glad we had the extra time that we did with him. Yes, they're together now, along with all those who have gone before. *hugs back*
