Yes, you read that right. Our special guest for all our good girls and boys is the one and only-- Buddy the Elf!
He'll be arriving tomorrow the same way any other citizen comes to the lovely Alien city-with-two-beaches-and-a-mountain. Buddy, though, is coming with a catch.
Since he has his own special high-octane brand of Christmas cheer, the Aliens had to change a few things around in the programming and processing systems to handle that level of child-like joy and wonder (and, let's face it, mind-numbing naivete). In doing so, they kind of mucked things up a bit and characters already in Taxon will be feeling the ripples of ripped code when the meet the new arrival.
Basically: System glitch where everyone is freakishly, ridiculously happy if/when they come in contact with the giant elf-man. It won't stop and the feeling won't lessen at all.
The effects of the system glitch will last from the moment your character talks to Buddy to the day after Christmas, when the Aliens will decide this is giving them far too many cavities and headaches than it's worth and de-program Buddy, reverting the system code to its pre-Buddy parameters in the process. Your characters will remember everything that happened, but the uncontrollable happy will, unfortunately for some, end.
If you don't want to get glitched, all you have to do is not have your character talk to Buddy. In the same vein, if you do want your character glitched but don't have the time to tag in and thread with Buddy (or if I'm going too slow in tagging you back) all you have to do is note in your post or threads that, at some point, your character talked to Buddy and you can assume whatever you'd like to have happened during that interaction, if anything other than a quick "Hi."
