For Jenna, things had recently been pretty normal as far as Taxon goes. Gain people, lose double. Lose one, gain none. She was starting to learn the ins and outs of the city and hated what she'd come to notice ( Read more... )

Jenna? [ Oh, this was not good. Helen had first met her when Elena had left before and now either something had happened or she'd left ]

Would you like some company? [ It was the least that she could do ]

There's little that I am allergic to. [ There'd been little that she'd been allergic too prior to the Source Blood but since then? It was a little more true ]

Is it something of where you're from or more widespread? [ Meaning 'only people in Mystic Falls or everywhere'? ]

That's lucky. My mom was allergic to flowers. Spring was always a difficult time for her.

[ she lets the necklace hang back under the neckline of her shirt and sips her tea. ] I'm... not really sure. I only learned about it here. I guess it was an across the world thing, but I don't know for sure.

[ it was an interesting question, but considering vampires weren't exactly native to mystic falls, jenna supposed neither was vervain. ]

One of the hardest allergies to have, given that it's hard to avoid the allergent.

[ Helen gave a nod - she'd only heard of it here, perhaps it was something from Taxon? ] If it's a herb it may certainly be.

Yeah, she used to hate it. She'd be drugged up all the time and lecturing me on what to bring in the house.

[ she nods and takes a sip of the tea. it makes her miss elena so much more. ] My niece got me started on it. Keeping up with the tea is almost like still having her here.

In situations like that you have to take as many precautions as you can.

[ Helen gave her a small, sad smile ] Routine's are a good thing to keep.

I know. I can't blame her now, but she was certainly harsh on a 6-year-old. [ especially when her sister was so much older. ]

It can be. It's better than sitting around doing nothing... or using my other methods of coping. At least Elena can't complain about the tea and company.

[ Helen gave a nod ]

You'll find something else, really. [ Jenna may not want to think about it but Helen wanted to give her hope ] Every day becomes easier, and at least she is at home. She'll be there for you when you leave Taxon.

[ jenna just stares at her tea. ] Yeah, if something else doesn't happen while I'm gone. [ so much was going on, so much that jenna had... never told anyone else in all her time here. well, she'd talked to fitz about some things, but she'd never actually addressed the elena / katherine thing because when stefan was still here, it was too dangerous. and then they'd all left and it had stopped being important. the thing was... just because elena was back at home now didn't mean jenna had nothing to worry about. hope was in short supply in mystic falls these days. ]

I'm not certain if anything will. [ It was a theory, a crazy theory, but if Taxon could bring people in from the past, from different times and worlds then... perhaps there was something more to that ]

I can't guarantee it either way. She's in danger at home. That's all I really know. [ it's a lot that she's admitting this freely, but she's never really been able to before. it's almost freeing in a way. but she does get up to put more water on. distraction is go. ]

Do you want some more tea?

Not if you're still there. [ It was a crazy theory but she wantted to try and give her hope ] People are brought from different times, without them realising that we've left. What if you are still at home?

[ She gave a small nod ] That would be lovely, thank you.

[ hope is a hard thing for someone with as many issues as jenna has to accept. ] Then it's worse. I didn't know anything until I got here.

[ she lapses into silence for a moment until the water's hot again and then pours over two more cupfuls. ] She's got a lot to deal with that I never knew about until... well, here. I can't protect her if I don't know.

You forget that by being there, and being there for her is some protection as it is. [ It wasn't much, it was weak, but Helen had to give her it ]

[ it helped... somewhere deep inside, it helped. jenna brought the tea cups back over and sat down again before she managed to look back up at helen. ] Thank you. [ hard to accept as it was... jenna did appreciate the attempts. she just didn't quite know how to say as much. ]

I'm sorry to be such a downer today. Maybe it's something in the air.

Seeing things certainly doesn't help. [ Jenna may not have seen Elena, not as she had Ashley (Elena was alive, for one) but having things that remind you of someone? Or believing to catch them in the light? It made it harder ]
