There's a fire piled high--Party's learned from the Bonfire Night, it seems, because the Kobra Kid and Party Poison are currently trying to stay warm. The trans-am is parked stupidly close to the fire as well, and Party's on top of it, one leg dangling from the ledge, the other propped up on the hood with the rest of him. there's an empty can of

Grumbling he reached over to wrap his hand around Party's ankle and tug. Sometimes all this list making was annoying. Besides. "I don't have a giant crush on anyone." Kobra's voice was still nasal and it seemed to get worse with every day, but the pout was definitely there. "You have a giant crush on elektrocat," he huffs and punches the side of Party's leg before curling back up. "James, Briar and Cain are a yes."
Kobra took off his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes, but even the light of the fire hurt them currently. His skin felt overly sensitive, even to his clothes.
"Why are we doing this again?"

"Cain is a maybe. What made you change your mind?" And, because he's curious. "When did you meet James?" But he's still crossing DG's name off. She's shiny.

"Cain is a yes and I just met him," Kobra shrugs, not in too much of a sharing kind of mood at the moment, still grumpy and miserable. "I just know what I know." He shrugs then coughs, nearly doubling over. Fuck this shit, he hates being sick.
"'sides, if shit goes Costa Rica, you gonna get out that list of yours in the middle of chaos and check who's allowed to sport colours?" Kobra teases, trying to cover up the coughing.

He licks his lips, though, feeling them swollen, chapped, and lowers his voice somewhat.
"Those hamsters. They can--they can just mess with us. Our feelings. Our thoughts."
He turns the sketchbook around, finally--it's not just a list. He's doing small sketches of the people he knows, pulling the information from tablets. Kobra's up on the top of his list, the drawing significantly better--he's doodled his fellow joys before.
"I want this in case something happens and I forget you. Or what everyone else here is like."

Should've known, with those two.
Kaylee offers up a small smile and, hoping she doesn't startle them too badly, laughs, "If you're gonna talk about folk, you might wanna check your tablet beforehand. Hamsters're mighty sneaky."
Reply
"Fucking wavehead, Party. You always mess up the equipment," he huffs, then turns back to the tablet, his expression still neutral. "Sorry," he offers.

Now, if they had been saying something that sounded in any way bad about someone she cares about (or her ship) more words would be had, but Kaylee knows that analyzing your other captives is something that happens often.

The vampire didn't know the question yet, but the answer certainly intrigued her. The music made her think of dancing in Spike's arms as they added their own sounds and their own splashes of crimson to the noise and colours of the 1970s. If she peered through the flames, she saw her dear prince and her heart ached.
"I didn't want to come to your party anyway," she snapped, "We'll have our own."

"You and, uh.. Edith, right?"

"Are you having a party?"

He glances at Kobra, licking his lips before returning his gaze to the vampire..thing.
"No party."

Even if she hadn't taken note of the fact that her name hadn't been mentioned on the list, it wouldn't have been difficult to guess who Party was referring to when he mentioned a giant crush. She just hoped it was brotherly teasing. She wanted to be friends with them both and she wanted to help them both, but that could make things awkward if not difficult.
"What are you doing, anyway?"
Apart from trying - and failing - to keep warm and comfortable.

"And this one," he jerked his head in Party's direction. "Is getting fucking old and forgetful, so he's making himself a picture book of people."
Reply
"Suck my sparkplug, Kobra. You got three more years and then you're my age."
He's not sure he can be polite with DG--his opinions wavering daily--so he simply doesn't acknowledge her.

Then he seemingly remembers the tablet and turns, looking only slightly sheepish. "My brother says he's sorry that he's stupid, it's not his fault. He was born this way."
