It had been just over a week since the invitations had been sent around, with the help of Glitch. Helen had known that Halloween was fast approaching but she'd had no plans for it - she hadn't since Ashley had been young, and yet somehow it was her that had put together such an event on this evening. It had been whilst working with Glitch that the ( Read more... )

It wasn't a costume, per se, unless "probably outdated traditional regional dress" counted. Glitch had been intrigued while researching it, and the results from the Extra tailor were acceptable. The noteable bits of the ensemble were the fitted red trousers and matching short jacket with oversized lapels (one of which sported a lavender spring secured with a golden crown pin, traditional for members of the queen's court), slightly belled sleeves (to show off the black lace cuffs of his shirt), and bronze buttons.

Okay and there are also calf-high black dress boots and some black piping and a bronze silk cravat. With a garnet pin. And the lapels probably have some sort of abstract embroidery detailing. In any case we're veering towards Lord Rochester levels of ostentatiousness.

So: Glitch could be found at the buffet table browsing for snacks, side-eyeing the drinks selection, outside getting some air, schmoozing, or brooding in a corner.

ooc - Choose your own adventure!

It had taken Kobra ages to find a costume. This Halloween stuff kind of confused him, because why would people put on costumes? You just wore what you liked. Not to mention he didn't know most of the people these costumes were off. But Kobra had heard of Star Wars and apparently it was amazing and one day he was going to see it.

For now he had an Obi-Wan Kenobi costume, complete with light saber. Still, Kobra's posture was a little hunched, a little awkward because he was completely out of his depth.

Frowning once he'd entered the Sanctuary he looked around, trying to spot someone he knew. He wasn't going to eat or drink anything, still utterly paranoid.

When he saw Glitch Kobra slowly walked over. He'd never been good at social interaction either.

"Shiny costume," he commented, looking Glitch up and down. "It's...what exactly is it?"

Thankfully Glitch was bred, born, and brought up to socialize. They'd meet somewhere in the middle, possibly.

"It's, um..." Okay maybe he should have gone with something easier to explain. "It's a traditional outfit from home. Fancy dress, obviously, but...yeah."

Okay it was a pretty lame outfit, whatever. "And you're..."

ooc - Quick note: because of the whole everyone's-fictional thing we've got fake fandoms to replace real ones. Star Wars is Galaxy Battles, and you can make up whatever parody name of Obi-Wan you like /makes note to add Your Biological Lovestory XD

Glitch was still Glitch with all his Taxon memories and all that, he was absolutely no different than his usual self...aside from the more outlandish than usual outfit.

However, once he starts talking...he'll keep on going. A lot. In a very rambly, roundabout, nonsensical way. He will see exactly nothing wrong with this.

Good luck.

"There you are!"

DG was wearing a blue dress rather than jeans and a t-shirt underneath her leather jacket, but she was still very much herself. She'd lost Glitch earlier in the night and crossed the hall as soon as she spotted him again.

"You owe me a dance."

Several dances, in fact.

Oh dear here we go:

"That is very probably the case but given the reciprocal nature of our relationship I believe that it may be equally true that you owe me one, in which case the best course of action is likely to establish via some means of determination precisely whom is indebted to whom insofar as dancing is concerned, and also figure out the precise value of 'a dance' as currency if it is to be used as a means of exchange and/or trade and/or barter. Unless you were speaking generally and simply wanted to gauge my interest in dancing with you by means of putting the onus on myself to initiate said dancing, in which case I would be honored to do so."

All delivered with cheerful earnestness. Yeah.
