[opposite event] This is a story all about how Taxon got flipped, turned upside down.

Oct 15, 2011 13:58

The idea, as it had been initially presented, was for citizens to experience what it was like to walk in someone else's shoes. In practice it became discovering what it was like to walk in their own shoes, if their taste in shoes were suddenly quite different from normal. The footwear still fit and was comfy, but the style was quite different ( Read more... )

Kaylee was more than sick of the stupidly quaint house that she'd woken up in. To make matters worse, there was that hideous lump of scrap in the back yard that the sun just had to reflect off of, straight into any window in the house.

She didn't really care where she ended up at this point, as long as it was nowhere with frilly curtains and fringed hand towels. With no real plan in mind, she spent her afternoon wandering street corners with cigarette in-hand, and wishing that some poor kid would come along, ripe for the picking...

[[ OoC: Kaylee here will be bugged from October 16th (yes, that's a back-date) to October 20th. Yessssssssssssss ]]

Party Poison was more than happy to just munch on a New York style hot dog and head his merry way towards a coffee place. He adored that sort of thing, lately, craving the caffeine. It was--

"Wooaaah," And Party stopped in his tracks, squinting. She looked a little familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.. Instead, he finished his hotdog and looked over at the PVC-wearing girl.

"Y'know, smoking's really bad for you."

Oh good, just what she needed, some stupid guy telling her all the reasons why her health was going to fail her at any minute. "No-fucking-kidding," she replied, narrowing her eyes as she took another drag. Gave her a chance to look him over, and what she saw...wasn't impressive at all. Hotdog, nice hair, suit.

Geesh.

Kaylee wrinkled her nose and flicked her cigarette. "It's going to be even worse for you if you don't just move along, kid."

"There's no way I'm younger than you," Party points definitively, before realizing their's mustard on his finger. He licks it off as a habit, and his tongue darts out self-consciously around his lips.

"There's no need to be so mean."

Paul hasn't shaved in a couple of days. It just felt waaay more, you know, natural, and in tune with the organic, earthy kinda vibe he was picking up lately. Plus, it was easier, man.

He couldn't figure out why he'd been so worked up most of his life. Always freaking out over something. Being mellow was where it was at.

So it was that he was lying on his back in a park in Central, on the grass, his tablet in one hand and a joint in the other wafting gentle smoke into the air. Despite the slight cool of the day-- it's in the 50s-- he's got bare feet, toes digging into the grass.

"Hey Taxon," Paul says with a sleepy smile at the screen. "Man. Did you guys know there's games on the tablet? Tetris. Awesome.

"--oh, and woah, the hatches'll pop you weed. Why's it taken me so long to figure that out?"

There is a 100% chance of this going badly. It's merely a question of how badly, or rather how one defines badly.

Glitch hadn't been affected by the latest event, not yet, but he'd mostly figured out what was going on. There had been plenty of strange and horrifying things happening in the city, but this was...interesting.

"What's Tetris?" he asked and set down his nearly-empty brandy snifter. "And why would anyone want a weed?"

...badly. 100% chance. For all the reasons.

"Heyyy Glitch. It's a game, brother," Paul said with a lazy smile and wave at Glitch. "Little thing you play on the screen. Gotta make these blocks fit. It's great."

The other question just makes him laugh like Glitch had asked the funniest thing in the world. "No, no, man, not a weed. Weed, MJ, cannabis. Mellows you out. You know?"

He waves the joint for emphasis.
