"Yeah. They've been showing things that aren't there."
Things and people she wanted to be there, but... things that weren't there all the same. And she wasn't sure how she felt about it.

Yeah, he was just fine.
"Think I'll find a tarp to hang over the mirror behind the bar for a while."

"I've been... seeing people in the mirrors, too," she admitted slowly. "It's kind of freaky. And that's probably a good idea with the tarp. I might do that on the mirrors at home. I've got a big one in my room and it keeps showing me-"
She cut herself off. The chances that Ric would show up were diminishing the longer she stayed here, so it was really in her best interests not to dwell too much on it.
"Well, it keeps showing me a good friend from home. Makes you miss what's not here."

That was still true, but he had learned that talking did help. He just wasn't sure he wanted to dump all that on Jenna, she seemed so...enviably average and free from horrors and mad aliens. Well, aside from the ones that had brought her here to begin with.
"Yeah, that's it exactly," he said and nodded. "They probably think they're reassuring us by showing bits of home, but...you know what I mean. I'm probably going to head to the pub early to see what else needs covering, if you'd like to help out."
Just a suggestion, he's the most unbossy boss in the world.
