008: [visual] Party at The Bronze

Jun 01, 2009 18:06

If people are watching the tablets, they'll see Dean, lounging on a stool. He looks relaxed, totally sprawled out with a cocky grin on his face. The tablet's set to visual, so all that can be seen is him and a bit of the club in the background, which looks like The Bronze. Since this is the only club like place Dean has been to in Taxon, he figures ( Read more... )

Seven wouldn't have given the invite a second glance. There seemed little point to 'Booze and Zep'. The latter's purpose or even identity escaping her completely, but she guessed he was referring to the unpleasant music.

It wasn't until Captain Kirk suggested she attended for socialising purposes, that she relented. There was at least some benefit to getting to know her fellow Taxon captives, she conceded that much.

So when she arrives at the Bronze, she's actually wearing her hair down, which is rare. Seven wanders into the Bronze and helps herself to water from a replicator hatch, then simply stands there and wonders whether she should commence mingling. She's let her hair down literally, just not figuratively.

"I have conceded to the fact there may be benefit to social interaction, yes Captain." He might not be her Captain, and she might not quite have identified her emotions as 'missing' Captain Janeway, but she is. Having Captain James T Kirk here, is a comfort. She does give him the hint of a smile though at the concession, despite it having her trademark superior edge.

"I am however, somewhat unclear as to how anything of importance can be discussed when the music's volume is as intrusive as this." She finds herself leaning in a little to make herself heard even at such close proximity.

Vala had managed to convince Daniel that this was a good idea. Had she been entirely honest about the nature of the 'meeting', she's not so sure he'd have agreed. So she kept the details vague and chattered about nonsense all the way here to stave off the questions, and being pushed to give specifics.

"Well, here we are." Vala grins and tweaks his nose playfully, mainly covering for and hopefully diverting any negative reaction he might have. The music can already be heard pumping just through those doors.

Daniel blinks off the nose-tweaking before looking at the building in front of them, shoulders slumping a tiny bit. He had a feeling that 'meeting' meant something else in twisty-turny Vala language - one of few that have been able to still stump him on occasion even after all this time - , and of course, he was right.

It wouldn't be so bad. Just as long as everything stayed under... uh, control.

"Meeting... right." And it is very much a meeting, in that sense. Sometimes he has to curse the English language for being so vague.

There was nothing twisty-turny about it, and she most certainly didn't lie. She made a concerted effort to not actually lie.

"Yes!" Vala beams. "An opportunity to meet people. It'll be fun." She all but ignores his reticence, actually she's largely oblivious to it, clearly excited by the evening ahead.

"You know, this is almost a date, I suppose." She walks ahead, smirking to herself as she pushes open the door and hopefully blocking any argument on that front with the way she waltzed off.

Probably testament to his own perceived loser status, well... he thinks so. He has nobody with him when he stops by. He's only here for the drinks anyway. As they seem to be free, as with everything else around here. Jack gave a brief look of acknowledgment to those he knows or at least knows of.

Otherwise he finds himself a spot to sit. He sets himself up with a couple shots and a couple beers so he won't have to get back up for a while.

Dean can't have that. There will be no loners in this club. Dean slides up to the spot that Jack has settled into, and gives him a grin. Y'know, just to be sociable. Usually Dean is not into friendly-time with strangers, but hey, it's nice to have allies when you're stuck in a place like this.

"So, I'm guessing you're not here for the company," Dean remarks, sipping his beer.

Jack gives him a strange look in reply to the grin. He's actually more sociable than he seems. He's just grumpy over the lack of most of his team.

"Oh, I wouldn't say that..." he gestures with his beer bottle, "Just waiting to see if the folks I know ever decide to show up."

Dean's unfazed by the strange look. He's used to it, actually. Gets them all the time from Sam.

"Best thing to do while you're waiting is drinking, which I see you've got down," Dean replies, folding his arms.
