[She's not at all trying to keep Dawn out; after all, of the three of them (four, with DG), Tara's not one of the two who's proven she has the juice to make this spell work. But Dawn still brings out her best protective instincts, and she's had an extra rough time lately.]

She looked up, when Willow came in search of her, and beckoned her girlfriend in with a worried smile. "No luck then, huh?"

Guilt wrapped its ugly glove around her heart for hurting Tara, but she shoved it down. She could deal with that later.
"No," she admitted, sitting down next to Tara and sighing. "I've tried everything I can think of. I mean, I-I think they've got Angelus trapped, so it's just a matter of... waiting, y'know? But I keep trying the spell just hoping something'll work." Only it doesn't.
"I think I scare Colette, though."
