The voice from the tablet causes Dean to glance over at it. He recognizes the voice, and his first instinct is to start talking to Buffy like she's an old friend. Which, she is, but only to Dean. This Buffy doesn't remember Dean, or that's what Dawn told him, at least.

So Dean grabs the tablet, pushing Zeppelin (yes, he named his dog that) away for the moment. "Got him for Christmas. Not that I asked for him, but hell, I guess it's better than a glitch," Dean replies, shrugging. "Hey, Be-- Buffy."

He has to catch himself, there; it's become second nature to call her Bendy, which he's sure she... won't appreciate, now.

"Looks like pets are the it-gift this season." After all, Dawn has one too. But Buffy is thrilled to have Mister Gordo in her possession. The little stuffed pig is perched lovingly on a pile of pillows seen just at the edge of the tablet's range. Buffy otherwise fills its little techno-eye.

"W-wait -- you know me? Right. Still kinda getting used to the whole friends-with-strangers thing. Patience, please?" Said rather good-naturedly.

"Looks like," Dean agrees, pushing Zeppelin away from his face again; the dog is persistent in his attempts to lick the hell out of Dean's face. "Your sister's been begging the hamster overlords for one for months."

Dean gives Buffy a small grin when she asks for patience, nodding. "Yeah, I do. We were friends, before I got zapped back home. I know how it is, no problem." But he will have to wean himself off of calling her Bendy until she's more comfortable. "How long have you been here?"

"Seems pets were the things to get this year."

Kaylee's grinning as she switches on the tablet, because seriously, could that puppy be any more adorable? The device gets tilted just enough to show the little kitten curled up on her lap.

"Santa was pullin' out all the cute stops, it seems."

Zeppelin is well aware of his adorable, and so when he hears the voice on the tablet, he starts barking and wiggling around all crazy-like, trying to lick the screen. Dean pushes the dog away before he can try to take a bite out of the tablet, grinning.

"Yeah, everybody and their great uncle's got a pet now," Dean replies. The kitten that comes on screen is ridiculously cute, but Dean's not going to say anything. Zep, however, freaks out because cat.

"Long as Robin Williams doesn't show up with a creepy board game under his arm, the animals aren't half bad." Was that a Jumanji reference, Dean? Don't tempt the hamsters.

"I kinda like it. Puts a bit more life to the place." And with how quiet Serenity and the Ranch have been, Kaylee definitely approves of a little more life running around.

She doesn't quite get the reference he makes to Jumanji. Things like Star Wars she's seen plenty of--even had that little Han Solo figure in the engine room--but there are a lot of Earth-That-Was movies and stories that didn't make it five-hundred years. "Take it that's gonna be added to the list of movies I need to watch durin' my down time."

"I might understand if he was a huge, full-sized dog, but he's such a little thing. Are you often scared by tiny, little puppies?"

Actually, there was this one time where he was scared by a tiny dog with a pink bow, but we don't speak of those times. "Nah, that was just instinct. Could've been a vampire waking me up, could've been a normal person." Everybody gets a gun to the face. Dean doesn't discriminate.

... That's a lie, by the way, he does, but only towards supernatural creatures.
