The Hyperion Hotel was not the most impressive hotel he had ever been in, although it did have a certain ambiance he could not help but approve of. It looked as though it had been originally built in perhaps the 1930s, the height of the Art Nouveau movement, which made it a very endearingly young building and, of course, meant that by American

"Oh! Um, hi! Sorry, um, I'm Fred." She wasn't sure whether she should reach forward to shake hands or not, so she just bounces in place and gives him a polite smile. "Are you looking for someone?"

He offered her an apologetic smile of his own once she had finished. "I am-- not sure," he confessed. "I am following a rabbit down the rabbithole, like Alice, but I do not know where my rabbit-- or rather, this flashing dot-- is leading. Perhaps it is to a person. Or a thing. Or a place."
He shrugged. "And forgive me for not having been watching where I was going. I was contemplating the dot." A little nod at his tablet.
He bowed to her, from three steps down, making him quite shorter than the girl. "Mayland Long. I am.... 'a newbie', I have been informed."

She took a moment to think quietly for once, about the situation. "Your world doesn't happen to have demons in Los Angeles, does it?" she asked, with a small smile on her face. "Or I suppose the demons could be anywhere. Our world has a supernatural influence, you see, and that's where this hotel is from. It looks like you do have a place here. You want to go check it out?" Excellent explanation, Fred. Really top notch. She was always a little excited to find someone's programmed possession- which was a little ironic, considering how much she hated hers.
"It's good to meet you, by the way, Mr. Long," she added, with a smile. At least she remembered that.

"My.... world... has the existence of evil, yes," he said, rather vaguely and non-specifically. "As far as their location in Los Angeles specifically, I wouldn't be able to say. I've never been to the Los Angeles of my world."
He smiled kindly at her, rather amused by her obvious enthusiasm. "A pleasure to meet you as well. And yes, by all means, let us seek out this.... dot, whatsoever it might be. Ladies first, Miss Fred?" He chivalrously gestured up the stairs.

"At the moment, no, thank you. Perhaps directions at some point in the future, but currently my map is serving me in good stead."
Having composed himself, he bowed slightly to the larger man. "Mayland Long. And yourself, sir?"
[ooc: given the logic issues of Fred and Long having already run into each other (and having discussed Angel), hee, I think the best way to handle this thread is to assume it takes place after Long has been led to his rooms by Fred and has come back downstairs, probably on his way out the hotel? Lemme know if that's a problem or anything]
