The communications system flickers on and displays a man wearing a drab, dusty taglemust but with a recognizable sword buckled at his hip. After a moment of surprise, he skims over a few notes on his tablet before unveiling his face to speak: "My alternate has left notes for me to read, but I would prefer a more reliable source of information."

"Doul, you're back." Godric looks happy about it, but not overly happy. He had been fond of En-Doul. He's just equally fond of the usual Doul.

"I am," he says softly with something might once have been an emotion backing his voice. Even without enhanced vampiric senses, it's fair to guess that he's glad to see a welcoming and friendly face.

"What did you want to know? Much has happened." If he finds it odd that Doul doesn't consider his glitched self to be a reliable source of information, he doesn't comment on it.

"As much as you can tell me." Which is to say, that he wants to know just what sort of things his alternate has been saying about him. "Although, I've no fondness for talking through this thing. Would you care to meet?"

The Doctor flips the communicator to visual and grins madly at Doul.

"You're back!"

"I am and I don't know if I should be relieved or unnerved by your good cheer."

"Be relieved," the Doctor says. "If I was doing something unnerving, you'd probably know it. Do you remember anything from that glitch?"

"I have the bound ribs to prove it. Why?"

"Sir," she offers. Nazca barely knows him, but he was the first person to speak to her in Taxon, and she still feels she owes him for that. "I cannot tell you much myself, but I am glad to see you back to yourself."

"The feeling is mutual and the title unnecessary. Just Doul is fine." Well aware of his social status, the Liveman has no desire to take on airs.

She offers a small smile. "Doul then. If, when you are reoriented, you would like some refreshment, it seems our captors have provided me with a tavern, so I would be glad to repay your former kindness."

"Agreed. I'll be by once I've resettled."

"You look different. Less dead."

Yeah, Casey's big on polite small talk - not.

"Some might even think it an improvement."

"Vampires might not agree."

Casey shrugs. He's in a small chamber (the former master of the armory's room at the palace), with a lit cigar in his hand. Yes, he shocked himself to get them. Some things are worth a little pain in acquiring.

"So, have you been debriefed as to what went down?"

"They're ab-dead and have little say in the matter." Doul is comfortable with calling the Brucolac a Deadman, but that's an agreement they've shared for a long time and not a term he's willing to share with the other vampir.

"I've had the civilian version, which runs to, 'The Master had a bad day and he hurt people, but it's fine now'," he says, not particularly pleased by the lack of reliable information.
