He didn't see any such message. He'd been busy looking over base schematics. He'd finished off the unfamiliar reports already, and stumbled across the answer to which universe this mountain came from. Which universe the body did. There was a poetic justice in there he'd appreciate better if there were something he could do about landing right back in this universe.
All he'd managed so far was a certain profound bitterness that they'd managed to work things out so well. Without the damn Atlantis ZPM figuring into it at all.
By the time Vala's message came along, he was actually bored enough pouring over useless information to pause and listen. Would the other Cam go along with this idea? He wasn't particularly in the mood to care.
Judging by the memories he had of wandering the streets of Taxon -- depressingly rare, those were -- he wasn't particularly surprised. At any rate, the idea of attending one of the clubs was better than spending time around empty people meant to resemble a universe that wasn't even his.
"What paperwork could I possibly have here, Vala?"
Well, I might have to ask Dawn how okay she is with me ogling strange villager women, but I'd very much like to attend this celebration-- y'know, in theory.
Now you're being ridiculous Xander, I very much doubt Dawn whips you. That would be barbaric and besides - she's tiny. You'd easily overcome her in hand-to-hand combat should the need arise.

Good point. Dean can usually be found a) sleeping, b) working on the Impala, or c) eating. He does other stuff, as well, obviously, but the tablets always seem to catch him doing that the most. When Vala comes up, saying that, Dean's face kind of does this odd expression, where he's trying not to look outright irritated. Ugh, birthdays.
"Hey, Vala," Dean replies, wiping his hands. They've only met once or twice before, but Dean has seen her around enough to know her name.

"They have those here?"

"If you know where to look, of course," she added smugly. "You're not actually going to drag yourself away from your paperwork are you and tag along?"

"That's a yes, then?" She raised an eyebrow, maybe Cameron Mitchell had a few more surprises up his sleeve yet.

"You know birthdays are about debauchery, not machinery." She cocks her head and gives him a disapproving look.
