I [Holo - Arrival]

Dec 28, 2009 13:42

Something red dripped onto the floor of the arrival room, and then something large fell with a thump onto it. A man with greasy hair and a huge nose, dressed in ornate academic robes and a great deal of buttons was laying in a heap on the ground, bleeding from several fanged bite-marks on his neck ( Read more... )

Mitchell had told her to step up her game, and Vala was never one to refuse an order... No wait. That wasn't it at all. Vala wasn't going to let a challenge go ignored. So despite her recent morose self absorbed behavior, this was Vala, back on form and trolling welcoming new arrivals in her inimitable style.

"Well that makes a change from all those ridiculous human Christmas songs," she ventured in response to the chanting with a smirk, despite the man's apparent injuries (which she was sure were merely superficial, else he would have requested help, rather then demand answers).

"You'll have to help me a little though, which Queen and which country are we talking here?"

AUGH THE HORRIBLE DEVICE WAS TALKING TO HIM.

...

"Elizabeth the Second, and if that doesn't clear it up for you, this portion of the conversation is over." Huup! Okay, he was standing upright. The better to glare down his (prodigious) nose at the Horrible Device.

OOC: Edited for inability to pick a %$#&ing tense!

Pick the alien to say that to, why don't you Snape? She's only just getting her head round American culture and history, never mind England!

"The second what? Second queen? Wow. You must be from a very long time ago."

The amount of interest Snape has in Val's head, or any other part of her, is minuscule.

"Where am I, and what do you want with me." Well. He had said that part of the conversation would be over.

For a moment, Godric thinks that the new arrival has suffered a vampire attack, but a second look makes it clear that the fang marks are too large and too far apart. Something else, then. He doesn't seem to be dying from the bites though...if anything, he's recovering. Not so surprising, here in Taxon.

"The explanation you seek is strange at best, and our captors have not yet identified themselves." So helpful, Godric.

More voices. Snape peers down at the device as if it might explode at any moment.

"'Our captors'. I am in a prison, then?"

((OOC: Being whisked away for a while!))

"You are. The device you're using to speak to me is yours. If you take it, you'll be free to leave the room you're in and enter the city. However, we have yet to discover any method of escaping the city walls."

Godric glances curiously at Snape's clothing and his wand. He's familiar with witches, but this man doesn't seem quite the same. If there are different versions of vampires, it makes sense there are different versions of witches, but he won't jump to any conclusions just yet. New arrivals tend to be more agreeable to answering questions after they've gotten their bearings.

((OOC: okay!))

Snape's clothing is of fine material, if cut without much flourish aside from the inherent eccentricities of wizard robes. He smooths them, readjusts his collar (the bloodstains have already disappeared) until only his face and hands were exposed. His face smoothed, became calm, until only the glitter of his eyes expressed his disapproval.

"It is not mine. It may have been issued to me, but I do not claim it. Once I am out of this room, why should I keep it?"

[Trooooooll in the dungeon!]

Identify...well! The name's Glitch. Um, what- which part did you need explaining? And wow, are you okay?

[All these voices coming from nowhere. How muggles lived with these things, Snape thought to himself as he walked through the hall exiting the Arrival Room, he could not fathom. No wonder they were all mad.]

I am as well as can be expected, thank you. I will accept whatever explanations you have to offer.

Oh, well, that's good. Um, let's start with...

[Where was a good place to start? The beginning, probably, but which beginning? And, given the nature of the cosmos, did "the beginning" actually exist or- stop it.]

Okay! Are you from the Othersi- Earth, or Somewhere Else?

I am from Earth.

[Snape actually takes that question in perfect stride - that there were other realms than Earth was not news to him. That someone felt it necessary to ask, however, was odd.]

*By this point, let us assume that Snape has left the . He is carrying his tablet, wrapped in his handkerchief, when the Horrible Device starts talking to him again.*

So I have heard.

[Let us assume that this conversation is taking place directly after the *dramatic events* above, and that Snape is currently making a mess of himself on the Taxon Sanctuary floor. There's more blood that way, for one, and he's pretty delirious, for two.]

True. I'm being rather a spend-thrift with it, just now. Bloody vampires...
