Levi is a newbie in Taxon, and he's exploring, because that's what vampires do best. Other that the whole blood sucking and stalking in the night thing. Vampires do that pretty well, too ( Read more... )

"Trust me, mate, those aren't worth the trouble. Taste like sawdust."

Spike had been taking his usual wandering walk around the city when he came up on this fellow, the odd one with the bracelet. He'd watched the man staring at the Extras, and he recognized that look.

He stood near the seemingly young man, taking time to leisurely light a cigarette.

Blink blink. Levi glances over at the other man, raising an eyebrow, and then snorts, pushing his hands into his pockets. Well, then. That works.

"I'll keep that in mind," Levi replies, grinning slightly. And conveniently forget to tell Ethan, if he ever gets back to normal. "Thank you for the advice, Mister...?"

"Spike," he said, flipping his Zippo shut and stuffing it back in his pocket. "Just Spike."

He looked up and smiled vaguely at the man, straightening up his stance. "There are easier ways to get a good meal, actually. Not nearly as fun, but- well, the fountain's kind of fun, I have to admit," he added with a chuckle.

He took a drag off his cig, then let it out nice and slow before continuing. "So, who're you, then? This city seems rather fond of our kind."

"Spike, just Spike," Levi repeats, glancing at the cigarette. "Fan of Madonna?"

He's only teasing, doesn't mean any harm by it. He smiles back, running a hand through his hair. The fountain idea does sound fun, come to think of it.

"Levi," he replies. "And that's what I've heard. Do you know how many of us are around here?"

Jessica liked wandering herself. It was good to be out and doing things - not stuck in the nest with Eric and Godric who were just being weird. Not as weird as Cassie was, from what she heard, so she'd put some distance between her and what she thought of as her home, pausing when she saw the guy who was so obviously watching.

Interesting. Not human, she got that straight off from her senses, but wasn't quite sure as to what>/i> else he might be. Not when nothing seemed to follow any real rules around here. "Something cool?"

"Mm? Oh, no, merely people watching," Levi replied, flashing her a charming smile. There's something he can see, can smell, right off the bat; she's not human, he knows that, but no use in being reckless. If his mortality state comes up, it comes up.

"They're interesting, aren't they?" Levi gestured. He thought they were, at least, an interesting enigma to study while here.

"Not really," she shrugged one shoulder in a lazy manner. "They're kind of boring. All they do is get you what they need when you need it. Or they just blend into the background."

Levi snorts. "That's why I find them interesting. I've never heard of humans who blend like these do." A pause, then:

"Oh, how rude of me. My name is Levi. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Enjoying the scenery?" Eric asks dryly, looking over whomever the hell this is on his tablet. Levi looks like one of those leather'n'latex vampires that came to Fangtasia, seeking out similarly dressed fangbangers. Or vice versa. Eric can't really tell from the screen.

As for the Extra, well, it wasn't as if they were good for anything else besides looking at.

"Very much so, indeed," Levi replies, and to his credit, even though he was startled, he doesn't show it. He glances at his tablet, taking in the sight of this new blonde person. Alright, he can socialize.

"I'm enjoying the weather, as well." Definitely not stalking out prey or anything.

Godric just so happened to be walking by, wandering in the general direction of home. It was easy to pick out Levi from among the fakes. Even if he hadn't been making a small spectacle of himself by standing in the middle of the street, his scent and presence were distinctly different from the false people who crowded Taxon. He paused a fair distance away, intrigued by Levi's smell.

The scent of something different than the sawdust-smelling Extras makes Levi glance in the direction it's coming from. He doesn't see Godric at first, but he can definitely smell it, and he's wondering how many vampires there are in this place. He's used to a fair amount being around, but still.

He's met a total of three or four humans so far, and the rest were vampires. Levi thinks he likes this place.

Curiosity won out, and Godric approached at a leisurely pace. It was always good to know who -- or what -- was new around Taxon, and Levi's heart was decidedly not beating. His scent wasn't quite like what Godric would expect from a vampire of his world, but close enough for identification.

"Good evening," Levi calls to the approaching Godric, offering him a polite smile. Godric looks relatively harmless, but Levi isn't stupid; he knows he should be on guard until he's given reason not to. For now, he stands still, waiting.

The shitty thing about humans is that they're weak. The shitty thing about going from vampire to human is that you haven't had years to get used to having a weak, breakable body -- or to condition it up. Ethan's been getting shit from his muscles for months, so it's kind of a routine lately to get up and go for a run once it starts getting dark (no, he's still not conforming to a normal sleep schedule, thanks for asking).

Fuck it, if he's going to be human for now, he's going to be in shape.

Little does he know...

Little does he know, Levi is out and about, lurking all Batman-style. He's intrigued about all of these Extras and all of the things in Taxon, and since he can't seem to get answers without being trolled, he's investigating himself. Ethan had gone off to sleep, and Levi was considering going and bothering him when he saw the man himself.

So of course, he jumps down from the roof he was chilling on, right in front of the jogging Ethan.

"Hello, Ethan," he says cheerfully.

So Ethan just barely stops, more or less running into the vampire - goddamn refelxes - and quickly putting some space between them. He bites back an expletive, deciding to just catch his breath. But he's glaring at Levi all the while.

"You mind?"

"No, not at all," Levi replies, still in his annoyingly cheerful tone, and decides to be extra annoying, just because. He closes that space back up again, grinning, and leans in really close, nearly nose to nose with the poor human.

"Having fun?"
