002: Night is Crawling and Something's Here [Visual]

Nov 13, 2009 17:54

After her encounter with the Ripper, DG made her way hastily back to Sanctuary Square. She didn't have a fixed plan in mind - as far as she knew, Taxon had no police force - but she knew that she had to warn people about 'Jack' before he tried to gut anyone else. His next victim might not be as lucky as she'd been ( Read more... )

[Glitch was in Speares, inspecting an empty store in the event it would be suitable for...something, he wasn't sure yet. He'd left his tablet on a counter, but as soon as he heard DG's voice it gained his undivided attention, especially when he saw the state she was in.]

DG? What- a knife? What hap- where are you?

Glitch. If she'd been thinking more carefully, DG would have been a bit more careful about breaking her ... news. Or she'd have at least selected an audio only function and kept her arm out of sight. Her eagerness to get help - and to get Jack locked away - had overwhelmed everything else.

"I'm in the central square," she replied, "He's ... hopefully still unconscious."

If he's lucky he is!

[Sorry, doll, cat's out of the bag. He's already left the shop and is pulling up the map.]

I'm on my way, you just, you just hang on.

Oops?

"I'll just wait here, then," she said, moving aside the stone cold cup of coffee and sitting down on the bench. She didn't fancy venturing off on her own anyway, not when Jack was still out there and still armed.

She flexed her good hand, examining the symbol on her palm. She had a better idea of what she was capable of now, at least. She'd thrown the guy aside as if he'd been made of straw.

[ That statement worried Ashley. A guy with a knife and bad attitude? Was there anything good about this place, other than the lack of the Cabal. ]

The Shoe could hold him.

[ Or some other part of the Sanctuary, but the Shoe was used more than anything else ]

"The shoe?"

DG sounded a little skeptical when she replied, but she didn't have any other options and, at the moment, she was willing to accept any offers she could get.

"What's the shoe?"

That sounded promising. The man she had encountered had been the very definition of nasty, after all.

"Can I get directions?" DG asked. "And maybe someone to help me bring in?"

She'd been slashed by a knife once. Magic and luck had saved her life, but she might run out of either at any time. Even standing in the square to have this conversation made her feel pretty ... exposed.
