"I'll just wait here, then," she said, moving aside the stone cold cup of coffee and sitting down on the bench. She didn't fancy venturing off on her own anyway, not when Jack was still out there and still armed.
She flexed her good hand, examining the symbol on her palm. She had a better idea of what she was capable of now, at least. She'd thrown the guy aside as if he'd been made of straw.

DG sounded a little skeptical when she replied, but she didn't have any other options and, at the moment, she was willing to accept any offers she could get.

She'd been slashed by a knife once. Magic and luck had saved her life, but she might run out of either at any time. Even standing in the square to have this conversation made her feel pretty ... exposed.
