Max was on her bike, riding around the city. She wasn't headed anywhere in particular, she'd just had a sudden urge to get out of the Sanctuary. The desire for a change of scenery, to blow off some steam. And it had been a while since she'd been able to ride her bike without any dire consequences ( Read more... )

Randomly, Glitch was wandering. It was still his default, okay? Eventually he'd establish a physics lab-cum-coffee shop, but until then there was a city to poke around.

Invariably he ended up at the Central Sanctuary, as it was pretty much as fixed as fixed landmarks got. Today brought the bonus of a motorbike, which was not unfamiliar in the O.Z. but none looked quite like this. The fact that there was a young lady to go along with it was a detail which mostly escaped him. Sorry, Max, he's pretty much just interested in what's between your legs. Um.

"That's..." Glitch began and promptly trailed off as he walked around the bike. "That is quite a machine you've got there."

You guys are all the same~

Max, being a little distracted, didn't notice that Glitch was there until he spoke up, coming into her line of vision. She smiled, running her hand over a handlebar.

"Thanks. I like it," she said, eying Glitch up and down. "You new here?"

Hey baby, want me to calibrate your motor vehicle so it operates at its maximum power potential and fuel economy? Sorry, he's bad at this.

"Oh, I've been here..." Figuring time with just half a brain? Tricky, to put it mildly. "Close to a month, maybe? I guess that's kinda new." And he chuckled with a shrug. "Name's Glitch, how are you?"

Ooh, baby, talk mechanics to me!

"I'm Max," she said, nodding to him with a smile. "I've been here for a couple months. I think."

She pulled at her collar again, trying to get some air. "I'm fine. Kinda hot, but fine. You?"

Dean is taking advantage of the colder climate, strolling through the city with his hands in his pockets and a lazy expression on his face. There isn't much to do in Taxon, so he takes a lot of walks, which can be entertaining, but tonight? Not so much. In fact, he's almost wishing he'd brought his car, for the added music factor, as well as the fact that it was his car. His baby.

Either way, it doesn't matter, because he's walking down the street, and he sees a girl, standing by a bike. Dean is intrigued.

"Hey there, everything alright?" Dean calls, approaching slowly.

Max turns when someone calls out to her and is immediately confused. Alec's name hadn't appeared on the tablet and she was pretty sure that if he'd arrived, she would have gotten wind of it by now. Unless, of course, he'd just arrived.

Not that she's not happy to see him. Quite the opposite, in fact. It was good to see a familiar face.

"When did you get here?"

Okay, so... he's never met this girl before (though her voice does sound vaguely familiar) so why is she talking to him like she knows him already? Dean raises an eyebrow and stops a few feet away from her and the bike.

"Uh, right now?" Dean replies, thinking she's talking about his approaching her. "You okay?"

"Fine," she nods, looking the man up and down. He's the spitting image of Alec (and Ben), but acting like he doesn't know her. This is...weird, and she's a little worried.

"What about you?"

He honestly wasn't following Max around. Peter left early in the morning, taking advantage of one of Max's rare sleeping moments. He had returned back to the rubble that was once the Petrelli Mansion. It was still in rubble, and well, that pipe still had all his blood over it. That was a fun thing to explain to people why he had a bloody hole in his shirt.

Though he slipped off the tram as it pulled into the station. He glanced around before shoving his hands into his pockets and heading down the road. Peter wanted to get back into helping people. Even though there seemed to be hospitals here in Taxon... it didn't look like they needed him. All in all, he was feeling a bit useless the entire day. And would of rather have been left alone.

Max had gotten off her bike at that point and was doing a little walking herself, trying to clear her head since the bike ride hadn't quite been working. It hadn't been her intention to run into Peter, it was more like a happy mistake - he'd been gone most of the day, and even though she'd managed to keep herself distracted, she was very glad to see him.

"Peter?"

And he had just been thinking about maybe going to the hospital anyways. He raised his head slightly. Then his eyebrows followed. Now he was starting to wonder if Max's feline DNA allowed her to sniff him out anywhere.

"Hey, Max."

Hey now, it wasn't her fault that they kept running into each other.

She offered him a smile, which faded a bit when she saw how he looked - like there was something on his mind. "Everything all right?"

Henry was making a point to get out and explore more. It wasn't going to do him a whole lot of good to not know Taxon or what they might be up against. He'd made it all the way back to the other Sanctuary when he noticed Max there. Looking up from his tablet he grinned at her bike, "I'm surprised Ashley hasn't taken that off you yet."

"She'd end up with a broken arm if she tried," Max said with a smile back at him. "What're you doing out here?"

"I dunno. She's pretty tough," he was joking, mostly. Ashley was pretty tough, especially now. And she liked bikes. Anything that went fast, really. "Oh you know. Exploring. Getting a feel for the place. Getting out of the lab."

"I'm aware, we've raced our bikes before," she replied, laughing. "And good. It's good to see you out."

Carlton had finally decided he needed to learn this area. If he was going to make any headway in figuring out where he was and why, he certainly wasn't going to do it from inside his police station. So, he'd grabbed his jacket and a gun and headed out. He decided that the best place to start would be where he first found himself. The map called it 'Central', which was apt since it was in the center of the city. He wasn't new to trams, so they were easy enough to navigate, though more and more, he was hoping to find a car ( ... )

Max turned around, nodding to the guy. New arrival, apparently, or at least one she hadn't met yet.

"I'm fine," she said, sounding a bit irritable. Though she was getting a little tired of everyone asking her that.

She tried not to hold it against the guy, though. He certainly wasn't at fault.

Carlton could tell the sound of an exasperated person dealing with the same line of questioning. He'd heard it from countless perps, and even more from himself during his marriage.

"Sorry," he said quickly with the trace of a smile, "You just look a little warm, and it's not exactly boiling out here." He pulled off his sunglasses and tucked them into his jacket pocket. "Detective Carlton Lassiter." He said with his hand out for her to shake if she should so choose.

"That's all right," she said, reaching out to shake his offered hand. He had a nice grip. Wasn't too bad looking, either.

"And I am, but I think it's just the ride."
